No your right, I just cleaned them up with some denatured alcohol and steel wool. Thensprayed them with some nice metal high temp clear for shits and grins.

Man that water pump looks tight, im so jealous, you've got me on a craze, im ripping my car apart to polish the uim, lim and compressor housing, and maybe maybe the front cover/waterpump, buts thats pushing it....
