Sad but True ... In 1973 the non'rice burning chevrolet "corvette made a " 4 Rotor" Wankle Engine, that amazed them with it's high rpm with low vibration failure & minimal parts wear ..

They dumped it for several reasons , because of nascar racetrack limits, & low money parts return , and other :rice: :rice: detroit car monoply issues ?

Piston engines break when over revved because the engine components can't handle all the vibration.

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png it runs out of oil on the rod bearings because the oil pump is cavitating at high rpm...in a wet sump application..not because of vibration...you cant see if the motor is out of balance..that is how much it shakes. Valve springs break because of high rpm and the ******* doesnt shut it off when it coughs out the valve through the exhaust system..like i saw today https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

My personal favorite is seeing melted piston out the exhaust ports..("i though it had water in it, the temp gauge never moved")

no oil on rod bearings...equal hole in block..i'll post a pic tomorrow https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

no offense!! i love you guys!

i can put a wine glass on top of a BDD/BDA at 9500rpm and nothing will spill
