The definition of nigger is someone who is ignorant.

Just did a search, and they have actually changed the definition to nigger, meaning a racist remark toward black people, which only a black person can call another black person. At one time however the definition was someone who was ignorant. And I can even recall a time when I was about 13 years old on the bus to school (on a black route with a black bus driver), and some kid called a black kid a nigger. Well the bus driver even said the word meant ignorance and anyone could be a nigger....so thats good enough for me damn it.

I believe that the fundamental problems of the modern American black man stem from playing the race card in every tough situation. It's happened to me before, it's happened to my dad in a courtroom situation before, and it's happened to my mom in a teaching situation. I hate it because it ignores the problem at hand and creates another one.

What I find funny is you ppl are all worried about the vcr's and dvd players and such, but I bet not a damn one of em work, they were ALL UNDERWATER mostly.....think about it. Dude that was a really stupid post. I'm a pretty fair guy and not out to attack you or anything, but you can't go on thinking like that. People shouldn't steal or loot in any situation. It doesn't matter if the property is damaged or if it isn't mine, that doesn't make it okay. Some business owner worked to pay for their goods and owns the products in their store. Stealing from a store is no different than stealing from someones house or car. If you want to be a functioning member of society you have to be responsible for your actions. This means you do not take things that are not yours and you care for yourself to the best of your own ability. At some point you have to grow up and not rely on other people or the govt. to take care of you. This may mean working a shitty job or two or getting educated to work a better job. The basic Idea is that by making yourself better, you make society better as a whole. It also means if there is a major storm coming that could knock out power and leave you on your own for a few days, you should heed the warnings and leave or stock up on food and stuff before hand. Waiting until after the storm hits, then taking stuff off the shelves of stores to "survive" is an excuse for not buying it before hand and is stealing, expecially if it could have been purchased prior too.

What I hope people understand from this horrible storm is that the govt. will not always be there to take care of you. Their will not always be police to keep order or EMS to help you. People will have to keep order themselves as responsible citizens and work together to help others. All the talk about rape and fighting going on in the superdome is horrible. People took advantage of other people in a bad situation.

I wish they would have let it run long enough for mike myers to say something, the look on his face was like "where was that on the telepromopter?"

I'm white and I hope one day I can use the race card.

The fact that someone would *think* that politicians aren't responding because the majority of those stranded are black is just STUPID and IGNORANT. U live in GA and never hear of racism? Hmm, do I think the current state of affairs have anything to do with race? No, more like incompetence, none the less I'd say it's a stretch to make the statement that racism doesn't exist in the US.



Racism and descriminism based on social status has existed in the US since the first boat of imigrants landed. Rich hate the poor cause their lazy and the poor hate the rich cause they have everything. The have and have nots have battled for hundreds of years.



I can honestly say that this week I felt bad about myself, I felt bad about the bitching I did last year when the hurricanes hit here, I felt bad that there's nothing I could do to help those people, I felt sad for our country for watching on TV as our citizens died because they didn't have the simple things needed to maintain life.



All of this happening while some ******* denies a problem exists, denies people are dieing, denies he failed in the task that was assigned to him. Do I believe we left there because they were black or poor? I dunno, that's hard for me to accept, having seen FEMA in action I have got to assume it was just incompetence.



Let's face it, Mississippi and Alabama were also devistated, they are STILL without food, water, shelter and nothing is being said there, many of them white, many of them I am sure considered middle class.



FEMA said time and time again that they were ready to hand out checks, like that made them hero's, a lot of good a $50 check does when you don't have food, water or meds. It was however a demostration that they had no idea what the problem was. Not to mention the fact that probably half of the 10 billion thrown at FEMA will be used to figure out who and how they are going to give it out.



EVERYONE, black, white, poor, rich should be PISSED, they should demand that something be done about the pathetic response of FEMA. If you live in area that doesn't have floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc you are still vulnerable to disasters like terrorism, etc... and FEMA will be the idiots put in charge of your towns future, you and your neighbors wellbeing, if something like this does happen. personally if something like this ever happens to me I want someone capable of dealing with the problem on the job.



The people coming through for the victims, the people finding homes, shelters, food for the most part is NOT FEMA, it's private enterprise it's people like you and me, it's towns and mayors and governors like that of San Antonio, Houston, etc.. Texas has taken over 200,000 victims, they've taken them into their stadiums, homes they made it work, all something that FEMA, who had 4 days warning, who was told the levee would break, who's ONLY job function is to respond to these disasters should have had PLANNED, should have already had these shelters lined up, food in them, trucks waiting, plans to evacuate the shelters that trapped people, this isn't rocket science, given the resources that FEMA has there is no excuse for this **** NONE.
