That wasn't fun, apparently Oscar bit and swallowed a wasp, bit the crap out of the inside of his throat and mouth, swelled up like you wouldn't believe and we were worried that his throat would swell shut.

Couple hours and $150 later he's feeling much better!

TYSON 06-15-2005 10:33 PM

That's good! What did they do for $150?

Surprised that never happened to my dad's dog, he really went after bees. It was only the porcupines that really got to him.

******* puppies...i mean PARENTS are driving me nuts. id be at the comp, ignorning the pups, they make a squeak the rents come down and give me a lecture about ignoring the pups. I turn around continue to ignore them , they squeak, parents come down yell and scream get them all riled up and leave.

I'm watching supernanny and posting on nopistons im being SO ****** loud...hell i have the tv on mute.

Shot of anti histamine (benedryl) and a steroid shot, some pills and a bill!

i mean I really can't complain, they were open at 9pm and its not something you can sit there and watch happen to a dog, poor little 10 lbs dog and a tennis ball size lump on his throat and his lip was swelling.

venomrx7 06-15-2005 11:53 PM

we had a rodegian ridgeback that chomped down on a wasp one time. it just got him on the tongue twice though before he let go. his tongue hung out of his mouth all funny for about a week. It was funny as hell..

I hate having to go to the animal er. The one here automatically charges $80, just for being there. We came home one night to one of our cats bleeding all over, I think he stepped on a knife or something, he needed stitches.

I think the same cat had to go to the ER for a fight wound that was infected.

I just took our dog in to get stitches Tuesday night. $225. I have no idea what she cut herself on, but I made a sweep of the yard and picked up anything that could have caused it.

She's got such a high pain threshold, that I don't know how long she was injured before I noticed... minutes or hours. She didn't whimper once.

I didn't sleep for $#!* last night... too worried she was going to try to get the satalite dish off her head and tear the stiches out. A couple more days and we should be in the clear.

I knew I liked my dog, but I'm coming to realise how emotionally attached I am to her. Now I'm scared what will happen when we have kids.

BTW, according to the vet's scale, she's 85.5 lbs now. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png

Yeah when our animals are in pain and might need medical attention we just let them die!
