True true....

I just hate when people make traffic on purpose, im talking it was open as far as the eye could see in front of the cop.

He is still a dick... hehe

Shouldnt have been there, haha

Average speed on Canadian Highways is 140. Me, cruising in the fast lane (far left) doing 140/145...coming back from work, chillin, not weaving in and out of traffic, this guy comes right up to my ass, i move over...it was a cop! Must've been doing 160...my car is at least 100db at highway speed....he slowly passes by me...than takes off. I resume my cruise in the fast lane.

Does it make sense to you that a Cop has to speed on the highway to catch those speeding?

Sucks about the whole holding everyone back thing. Ha, most cops here usually go way over the speed limit so even those that want to do 20 over still can once he zooms by...

are you sure they are aloud to chase past a certain speed. i know that if you are on a street(not highway) going over 85 they cant chase you cause its to dangerous or something. havent tested this law out and not planning on it but i see bikes do it all the time.

I don't think that's true, or it's up to each officer to decide to go on, I know first hand

JT-Imports 02-06-2004 06:51 PM

I just think if he was there to catch law breakers or whatever he should do it.

"Shite or get off the pot" type of thing.

Granted if you have ever been on a Japanese highway you would understand this a little more. Japanese roads are WORST then ANY country I have ever been to.

Yeah thats my other point, they can break the law to come watch us break the law to give us a ticket? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

I can understand them chassing people that are speeding and then give a ticket thats normal.

Or if he is doing the speed limit and someone go passed him no matter what the speed.

The thing about my dumb police story was the guy was already speeding so who is he to set the pace?????!?!?!? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png

Either way this isnt something that happins all the time. I do have to go into Tokyo 5 days a week 1hr no traffic over 3 with.... So the cop didnt help my outlook on traffic hehe

Sinful7 02-07-2004 12:48 PM

While cops aren't immune to the laws, they are allowed to break them to catch criminals. Also, they have had formal offensive driver training, so it's generally considered safeŽ for them to break the speed limit.

Besides, it's not the cops I worry about speeding.. It's the 17 year old mother that's driving her 1991 Infinity at 95MPH on the state highway.

The last few times I've managed to convince the cops that I have had extensive practice off the road with speed and control (and losing control), so they tend to go easy on me depending on the time of day and volume of traffic.

Dramon_Killer 02-07-2004 04:09 PM

Cops don't give other cops tickets. I have an uncle who is a cop and he speeds all over the place.
