Has anyone ever tired to patent an invention? How much does it cost?
I contacted an invention company here in San Diego and I have meeting with them on sept 5th. I hope its not gonna cost a lot to patent my idea and then market it too. |
Whats the idea?

it costs 500 dollars or so for a lawyer to file the paperworks... another 100 dollars or so for a patent search in the patent archive out in DC, and possibly some odd change to cover for patent reapplication. They usually reject you off the bat and make you fight for it. Trust me, I'm in the process... and if you want a good lawyer, I can refer you to mine.

Thanks for the insight, damn thats a lot of money but it could make me rich.

He invented some badass rotary design. Basically the solution to the whole Renesis problem.

I had an idea, and contacted one of those "invention submission corporations" that you see commercials for. They made it sound like I had a winning idea, then asked me for over $800 to create some kind of porfolio, which included finding out whether or not the patent already existed. So, I wasn't going to pay $800 I didn't have for them to tell me it already exists.
(the invention also became obsolete when cable modems came into use) |
