well at work today i went from working on a 85 gsl to a 86 se to a 89 gtu to a 93 r1 to a 04 auto rx8 to a 05 manual 8. now talk about a vast differance with the years of cars. from a 100 hp first gen to an animal of an r1 to a mild mannered auto 8 to a spirited manual 8. talk about alot of fun and though i have driven them all before , hell i have owned an 85 and own the 89 now i never have driven all the generations or worked on them all in the same day. wow how the car has evolved. anyways i got no life so i thought i would share. let the ripps begin now lol.

If we had more of you in the dealerships, I'd feel better about letting the dealership do some work on it.

ya its funny, i have been at this dealer for 3 years now and when i started we only got 1 rx7 in the shop ever for repair, the guy before me was a hack . well i guess word has spread about my dealership and all i have been working on lately is rotary cars, wich is tight ,**** we have cars coming from miles away now, i make good money , make some good freinds out of it and i get left alone to do the work at hand. cant say the same when i was a machinest or even when i work on the other mazda cars in the line up.

na i wouldnt do that but i have gotten a s5 car for free cause the owner didnt want to put an engine in it,

Il RX8 lI 05-12-2005 10:36 PM

I don't see why we don't see more of this anyway. Why don't we have some rotor heads working as a dealership mechanic? You take someone who's already qualified since they're not "scared to open em' up" and put them on payroll. Bam, instant repairs, done right. (And only done when necessary.) You won't see engine swaps for blown vacuum lines anymore.

i wasnt serious, we gotta befreind the rotary community and i guess ure service is so good i would drive miles to get my car worked on by a person who knows rotarys dont have pistons lol

I went to the dealership once to get a heaterhose. Never went back.

thankz mazdatrix

fc3sboy1 05-12-2005 10:53 PM

whats funny about that is, we had a call from a guy with a 93 rx7 who wanted a price quote for changing his head gasket cause one of the other shops in my area told him the car was smoking do to coolent leaking past the head gasket. i damn near **** a brick when i heard that. too bad the guy never came to my shop

ambassador_josh 05-13-2005 05:59 AM

I would've told him he needed blinker fluid too

fc3sboy1 05-13-2005 07:09 PM

so this being friday now and my week has been solid rotary i was looking forward to working on a normal piston car for a changeup. so when i saw a gulf cart toeing in a its miata race car i knew this was coming right for me. well as luck would have it it did. cool car full nascar style roll cage a steering wheel that comes off , window nets fire supression system the whole ball of wax. then i find out it dont run. turns out this is a motor swap from hell and i now have to figure out what they did and fix it.

FikseRxSeven 05-13-2005 07:17 PM

how do you feel about the common stereotype about mazda dealers and rotaries?

fc3sboy1 05-13-2005 07:33 PM

steriotype? didnt know there was on other then noone knows what they are doing with them. always trigger happy on blaming the engines for all the problems with the cars.

but to anwser your question i dont know , i guess i just work in a differnt type of a dealership. one that works on rotaries and hell even race cars. now what other dealership in america does that. i know of none.
