After another weekend of driving Jersey's highways and having my shitty escort radar detector going off evet 2 min. I came home and bought the beast!

Anone here have one? If so what do you think of it? I'll be testing it all week and let everyone know if it's worth the $400

phinsup 06-23-2002 08:13 PM

It is supposed to be the, but I have no experience.

Twin89Stangs 06-23-2002 09:10 PM

Damn too rich for my blood!

Good luck!

dac 06-23-2002 09:13 PM

You need a Radar Jammer, not a detector. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Although Valentine One is #1 in the detector world.

SoRRoW 06-24-2002 03:17 AM

Wtf is that thing.lol

Where are you tring to detect cops in Cuba?

9BASE3 06-24-2002 07:45 AM

$400? Hell no. Unless it controlls lazer guided missiles I shoot at cops when they chase me...

Rob x-7 06-24-2002 04:52 PM

Valentine 1 been on the market for like 10 years, maybe more[QUOTE]Wtf is that thing.lol

bigtime 06-24-2002 10:14 PM

for like 80 dolalrs u can get the radar jammer

sidewinderx7 06-25-2002 01:30 PM

jammers hardly work anymore. I forgot thr website, but its the website thats like consumer reports, but for radar/laser detectors. Anyways, Val 1 got like 3rd, and they were taliing about how defussers and jammers dont really work anymore, because of the bands that they cops use now adays.

9BASE3 06-25-2002 02:00 PM

You could also drive the speed limit!!! :P

sidewinderx7 06-25-2002 03:03 PM

well that works too. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I only drive 'fast' when im racing .. other than that i like to go the speed limit so i dont waste gas (gas is getting expensive :( ) and right now I can think of 100 things better to spend $700 on than a ticket. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png I mean, come on, thats like a pair of slicks and some shitty wheels! Oh, btw, my HKS TT is in the mail .. or so rx7store.com says. I bought a few things from them, and they are slow as ****. I dont think im gonna buy from them anymore. But this friday i buy my turbo back rb exhaust and my FCD... yay!

YucA 06-25-2002 07:01 PM

Don't give that shitty forum your money! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif

Go through Racing Beat, Mazdatrix, and maybe rotormotorsports (if I ever get my gauges, and pod https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif )

psyclo 07-14-2008 08:33 PM

Don't own one, but have traveled with people who do. They are one of the best for sure. Worth the $$ if you do a lot of highway driving.

Detectors are legal in a good number of states, jammers and whatnot are hella illegal everywhere. Beyond not working.

TheRX7Project 07-14-2008 10:31 PM

I have one, it's in my glove box. Saved me a TON of tickets when I used to speed (1-hr commute to work gets old). But now, I don't need it. I find myself actually going 5-10 over, which doesn't warrant a ticket.

My dad has a jammer... that thing is the ****.

75 Repu 07-14-2008 10:53 PM

No ****. I don't even remember posting in it the first time! LOL

amp 07-15-2008 08:07 AM

cant say enough about this radar..

having owned one since 1995 should tell ya somethin..

Baldy 07-15-2008 01:35 PM

So Jay, now that you've owned it 6 years, worth it?

How much was it back then?

amp 07-15-2008 02:11 PM

550..

considerin the time frame... the cost of it now is reasonable

defprun 07-15-2008 04:03 PM

It's worth it. Up here you can go 140km/h without the cops bothering you (speed limit is 100km/h) but if you go 150km/h you can have your car impounded and you can get fined 5k.

amp 07-15-2008 04:11 PM

isnt it illegal to have radar in ontario....

got pulled over in toronto and and almost had the v1 confiscated...

defprun 07-15-2008 04:13 PM

Isn't it not exactly legal anywhere?

TheRX7Project 07-15-2008 05:56 PM

It's not ILLEGAL though. Jammers are. Actually it IS illegal in VA / DC.

teknics 07-15-2008 06:03 PM

no radar detectors are only illegal in a few states.

i've wanted a valentine 1 forever, but everytime my "fast" cars are on the road they breakdown before i have enough time to buy one https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

kevin.

Cops in Canadia????

YIKES!

defprun 07-16-2008 06:07 AM

There's a couple that hide really well I'll need one of those https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

UniqueTII 07-16-2008 07:11 AM

The previous owner of my Legacy hard-wired it for a V1. I should take advantage of that.
