ok some of you may have read me refer to my friend dave with a yellow type r. well he just called me and told me he got a jackson racing supercharger installed (only pushing like 7 psi).
here's my deal, why would you pay so much money to put a s/c on (he said it was over $3k) when you're simply making a 14 second car into a high 13 second car? I mean it's not like the car is gonna be sickly fast now. Altho like i said before i do give the R credit, it's a 2600lb car which handles very nicely, of course at the end of the day it's a 14 second honda but i dunno it is nice for a honda....i'd never buy one (they're like fooking $24k USED, but they only made 3000 of them) Anyway he said i can drive it through the twisties around here so that's what im about to go do. Hopefully i can get my digi-cam back from my friend anthony and i'll race him with my sister's jeep... s/c vs s/c woo. bah, on a side note. Hey whatever floats his boat

ok retraction on my part, the little thing is fast. He is only running about 5-6 psi tho because the b18c5 has 11:1 compression so he doesnt wanna blow **** up. The car feels very strong now for a honda, i actually kinda like it, i still wouldn't buy one tho.
oh and it is pretty sweet in the twisties even tho i HATE FWD, couldnt tap out the potential tho as it's ******* raining and **** here. and my sister was no where to be found for the jeep race, perhaps when it's sunny out we can test the R more https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png. i still cant believe it's only 2600lbs. kevin. |
my friend has the civicR and also the same setup... jackson racing s/c @ 7 psi boost... It's fast and it's economical... but like you, I'm on nopiston.com for a reason... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
Incidentally, I raced him the other day, about a month ago, with 289rwhp and he was doing pretty good... from 60mph and up... but before that, he totally couldn't keep up... I think they're excellent when v-tech and the supercharger are combined... I've also driven it, and I think that the handling is very crappy... He's got the stock suspension and with all that power and weight.... very bad idea... least my opinion... |
your friend has a civic type r? where do you live that he got one of those?
yea when the vtec and s/c combined it sounded mean for a honda motor. I like the jackson racing design, it's not blatantly obvious that it's a s/c it's like sorta tucked away. kevin. |
oh, btw.. the 7 is only 2800lbs... or so... at least mine measured 2810 so it ain't that far off... just have to shave a couple pounds off my belly.. ahhahah
