Holy **** does it hurt!!!! even tore into the side of my toe I stuck the nail back on, used some liquid bandage, hoping it will heal up quickly, but man does it hurt to walk on it
|
Duder - you need to make sure you didn't rip the nail bed, because it might require stitches.
|
how'd you do that? you and the woman getting a little too rowdy?
|
My foot just caught the edge of an open door on the way out.
I dont think it needs stitches suprisingly enough it didnt bleed much, I lifted the nail and looked under it and it was just pink, wasn't bleeding, most of the blood came from the portion on the side of the toe that the nail took with it. |
At least Banzai gave us a pic. Give us a bloody toe pic!
|
i think you're better off just getting whatever is loose off.... because keeping the dead nail there will just keep germs and other dirty stuff stuck underneath the nail. just take the nail off and clean it thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide, and put some neosporene on it for a couple of days and then just let it dry up and wait for the nail to grow back out
|
I agree, you need to take the nail off and let it heal. It will hurt, but there is more chance to get it infected with it on it.
That sucks though, ouch!!! |
One of our cats yanked his claw out (he chews his claws short). Bled all over the place, but was fine the next day.
I know, incredibly relevant. |
ive had mine yanked out, it used to get ingrown, and it does HURT!
i think its your fault for clicking on a thread that says "i tore my toenail off" |
I asked the ER doc about removing the toenail and they said to keep it on and make sure I keep it clean. THey usually try to sew them back on when people come into the ER, then the new nail will just push it out.
