New toy for Jims. I had so much fun Autocrossing my Mini I decided to buy some Rims and Kumho Ecsta V-700's for it. I was faster than Mustangs with racing tires last time out and I was running the crappy/heavy run flats that come with the car.

There is a high speed even in Gainsville this weekend. I might get up at 5:00 Sat morning and drive up for the Sat. event.

P.S. I still love Autocrossing the RX-7. Its fun sometimes to just go have some fun in a different car.

Cheers! 10-29-2003 06:20 PM

The Ecsta V-700 came in the right size for my car and the Victoracer (which I prefer, I think) didn't.

I have never raced on the Ecsta V-700. I'll let you know how they work.

I have had people tell me thay hate than and other tell me they love them.

Yes I got them from Tire Rack. Go look I am almost positive they come for an FC too. They are resonable and light. $130-$150 a rim and weigh 15 lbs for a 16x7.5

defprun 10-29-2003 06:43 PM

I think those even come in the same bolt pattern as the FB! Manntis had them on his car.

I would get a different hood, I HATE HATE HATE bodywork on hoods.

Did I mention how I hate bodywork on metal hoods?

Yes they come in FC configurations. I was planning to purchase them in a 17" for my FC until I became unemployed. They are very light and well priced. Kosei K-1.

You work for UPS?

banzaitoyota 10-30-2003 06:00 AM

I built a 5 x5 plywood crate for the hood I shipped this week. Good luck taking it apart

94touring 10-30-2003 10:50 AM

Those tires are what I ran on my rx7, and they were awsome. They have a better tread pattern for rain than the victoracers, the compound is probably the same. I think you made a good decision going with those for auto-x.

UPS is delivering my PFC today https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

you will need a drill, a pry bar and possibly some C4 plastic explosive to get it open.

banzaitoyota 10-30-2003 01:20 PM

Travisty has experienced a BANZAI shipping crate!

Jims5543 10-31-2003 11:06 AM

I wish I could afford to run these tires on my car all the time. I have them on there now to scuff them in. WOW! Forst they are probably 15 lbs per tire lighter than the stockers. They STICK so nice. I am taking corners at very illegal speeds. Actually I am breaking the seed limit in turns.

Fun!

i.didnt.do.it 10-31-2003 11:18 AM
