by FAR the worst invention to ever be put in use for the computer. i dont think ANYONE has ever been glad that a form they needed to fill out was a pdf form.

they all have their strengths. At least they're not BMP files. That is the sally struthers of file formats.

quick time and real player are easy go download VLC player with the klite codec pack and it will play anything on the interweb.

Not fond of them myself, of course right now I'm writing a bunch of code using ComponentOne's generator and it's not behaving itself. This whole printing sub system blows chunks. Probably why I was hired to rewrite it.

I just think they're pointless. I used to have issues with Firefox opening them, but now that I don't let it any more, things are fine.
