heres my plan....
1 - buy a shitty nissan s14 for like 1500....doesnt run, etc. etc. 2 - buy an r33 gtr 3 - ship the skyline here 4 - swap the dashboard vin numbers so the s14 is on the r33 5 - register the skyline as a 240sx 6 - dont get pulled over, and if i do, say i did a rhd conversion and body kit ... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png the two cars look enough alike to say its some crazy body kit |
and when it gets stolen, you are fucked. good idea

FrestyleReaction (9:16:16 PM): i will have a real skyline
MvF 9884 (9:16:22 PM): oh shizzy |

i would be carful about this one. i say this because there is a VIN on the dashboard, genarally on the inside of the door, and then a VIN that only dealers, insurance, cops, etc. know about. so there is all in all three designated places for the VIN's to be. they know of all of these places. i know that there is on on the firewall, front under the windshield and the third is on the pan (frame) under the back seat. this is where they are on a old school bug. i know this cause my brother brought one back from nebraska to colorado and they had to check the VIN's to make shure nobody had cut one bug up to weld it to another. this get's done alot. so this is just something to look out for when you do this. so make shure you have the information first.
|
well hm...ive had 4 cars registered in NJ and they never looked at the car
i mean the paperwork people would be like okay nissan 240sx changing title - they dont look at the car ever im thinkin skyline or s15 |
What the big deal about a Skyline. The only reason they are so popular is because they dont make them in the states. You can buy a porsche carrera4 and get everything a skyline has for half the price. And I can bet you would get more girls with the porsche https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
|
its a stupid idea, why bother, I dont see the big deal with the skyline, **** it.
I did see a nice Syclone in the paper a few weeks ago, 600+ HP Kenny Duttweiler tuned pick up would be nice. Whats the tax to import a car anyhow? I know to send cars to Australia there was like a 90% tax or some ****. |
if im gonna be paying 15000ish for a skyline...then tell me how i can get a carerra4 for 7500
and the reason theyre so popluar, to me, is not becuase of the rarity....but because of the awesomeness that a skyline has...i have driven one...4wd is amazing, handles amazing, and the rb26dett is simply ........... amazing its a powerhouse that is virtualy amazing....amazing..; whats the big deal about an FD or a supra then.....same reason....not because theyre rare if everyone in the world had an FD would you still own one....ask yourself if you own an FD beceause theyre rare or because they are amazing |

what was that word? Did you say YEWT? |

didnt say yewt...but i said awesomeness....cause they are....i guess....https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
|
see the problem with your whole plan is that you cant import the car with out the vin and the vin is here. they inspect it as it comes off the ship, so you need to have it already done.
mike |
huh? ....
no no... ill get the car over here for offroad use only then i would take the s14 vin and put it onto the skyline....then register the skyline like im registering the s14 |
Don't do it, rotary is not bird!!!
|
Well I am sure you wold get in alot of trouble if you did do that. And I thought you were talking about an R-34.
Is it going to be offroad or on road. I am confused. If it is offraod you dont have to worry about legalizing it. If it is for crusing....You better have some good connections. |
itll be brought here as offroad
but once i have it at my house and done iwth customs...im gonna change the vin from the s14 over to the skyline....then i will register the s14's title in my name, and get insurance, the s14 will be registered, but i will be driving a skyline registered as an s14.... an s14 with a body kit and rhd conversion |
It isn't that easy, it really difficult to get a skyline though customs. Skylines aren't that special, I think they are ugly and heavy. But like you said if everyone liked the same **** we would all be drive the same car.

What is the worste that can happen. You get caught they might fine you $500. If you get caught with emission stickers and what not that are illegal then you would be in deep water. I guess it is worth a try https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
Well just ******* do it then, obvisouly you don't care about the conseqeuences, or are just too ignorant to believe there are such...
|
Wow...you're an idiot.
|
yah if you get caught with that they just take the car, and i dont know what happens to you
mike |
How much are you willing to pay to do this. I have a feeling we are talking about some major $$$$$!
|
its a federal crime to change VINs by the way.
I hear federal prisons are nice, with our luck they will give you internet access so you can continue to impress us with more of your hairbrain schemes. Maybe someone should import a 2003 RX-7 and swap the VINs with a parts car since its so simple to do. |

You ever seen a 600+ AWD GT-R get beat by a T04S RX-7?...ask IGY...I'm sure he's willing to tell that story again. They're HEAVY, expensive as **** to fix if you break something, and harder than **** to work on. I can get my turbo off my car in less than an hour...with a bathroom break...no way in ******* hell you're doing anything like that on the GT-R. Ask TheCamel350 about GT-R's...he has one. Guess what's he's buying when he gets back to the states...an FC. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |

Do it.
You will have fun for a while. Then you will get very severely hosed. Actually - why don't you ask on www.freshalloy.com? They may have some input . . . J |

The R34 GT-R has an electronic AWD system (NOT 4WD!) with a VCD that can switch torque bias on the fly. It' also a very nimble car, usually putting out slalom and skid pad numbers just below the FD. All this in a 2D sedan that sits way above an RX7. Basically, the drivetrain on the Skyline is as cool and advanced as the engine in the Rx7s. I love 'em both. |
