Hey where can I build a web site for free or a cheap price? Is it easy to do myself?

start notepad. To do this on windows go to the start menu > Run and in the box type NOTEPAD

when notpad comes up type the following:

<HTML>

My web page is easy to do

</HTML>

Then save the file as "mywebpage.html"

Then click on it. Congrats! You did a webpage yourself!!

But seriously, anyone can build a webpage. But it takes a lot of talent to build a good webpage or application. I'd start with NAMO webeditor (costs about $80) and learn basic HTML (HTML for dummies).

Thanks

i use macromedia dreamweaver. if you want to make your own, download the file of another site, open it in there, see how they did everything, change the pictures and text around and crap, and use it as a base for your website.

I agree - It's how I did mine. I used a program called HTML Kit it's just a glorified notepad but I like it. I got 100mb free webspace with my ISP which is loads, the address is not to easy to remember, but I use URL redirecting frmo these guys: http://shorturl.com/

Inanimate_object,

I checked out your web site, you have done a very nice job with it. Also great choice on the kit car , I don't think your insane and I wouldn't mind building one myself.

you could always try to use front page, i usualy just use notepad but frontapge is a little easier.

Lothema 06-10-2005 11:49 PM

but fronpage leaves all those nasty tags that say "this was done in frontpage" for anyone that is curious enough to look at the source. dreamweaver doesnt

nice picture btw revn

Thanks man. By the way I've never used dreamweaver although I've heard good things - I was agreeing with saving websites you like and figuring out how the code works on them.

I wrote my website using Visual Studio.NET with VB.NET being the server side code. The only javascript is the menus for the client side code. If you want to really build a great site you will eventually need to move beyond HTML and the basic "front page" programs. Those can be used with .NET and other development environments to help make it look fancy with graphics but to build the real application and make it do something useful .NET is simply amazing. www.coolingmist.com

I Pm'd Revnrex and I guess I will go from there. The one thing is I would have used FrontPage but I don't have MS Office. I have the crappy package with wordperfect and word pad, not Ms word, notepad, power point. I regret not getting those programs now.
