Investments have been doing good so I decided to make some purchases on black friday. Got the Rugers yesterday and this morning I snagged a 40 in Sony LCD, nice unit all the features. Sony isn't the brand I would have preferred, but the price is right and the picture is great. 40" is the biggest I can go on the boat, upgrading from an off brand 32 inch. The one I have now hasn't been a bad tv, but i'd like to have something just a little bigger.

...and how much was this fabulous black Friday deal?

phinsup 12-01-2009 05:04 PM

5 bills

GreyGT-C 12-01-2009 05:39 PM

what size bills? If they were $2, that's one helluva good deal.

It was a decent deal and I was in the market for a new tv, so yea.

I need to pick up two 40" flat screens for a display ... cheapest I can find is at costco, it's a Vimeo I believe and its like 570 bucks.

I got a sony 60 inch not long ago, that thing looks fantastic! But not something you can put on a boat for sure. Also just put a Vimeo on our F/V ... we had a busted ass 24" tube TV... with built in VCR!

Just got back from costco, picked up a 42" panasonic for $475! Missing the remote, so it was marked down 300 dollars. I can live with that. Now I need one more at that price.

1080p? if so that's a good deal. I don't think i would be able to go 42", i think 20 is my limit. i'm pretty sure it's going to fit, i'll take photos when i get it in.

Maxt 12-06-2009 07:26 PM

WTF? We are paying over 1k for tv's like that.

phinsup 12-06-2009 08:05 PM

this is the model i got for $500

Amazon.com: Sony Bravia S-Series KDL-40S5100 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Black: Electronics

sidewinderx7 12-06-2009 09:03 PM

Its funny how TV prices vary so much. 500 for that tv is one hell of a deal! I only got mine cheap because it was missing the remote. 300 dollars cheaper...

Put on your denim jacket and hop on that moose of yours then head to ye ol wally world and pick yourself up a flat screen!

Got it today, I LOVE the TV, don't really like the bracket I bought, but love the TV. Still farting around with ****, but it's all up and running and mounted.

TYSON 12-10-2009 09:50 AM

the brackets are such a ripoff, like the cables if you're crazy enough to buy at Best Buy

phinsup 12-10-2009 10:00 AM

I buy the amazon brand HDMI cables, they are great, awesome quality and they are under $10, no ****. The bracket was like $50, bought it from amazon as well. Two things i don't like about this bracket, the TV can move side to side (i fixed this with screws) and there is no easy way to lock the tv bracket to the wall bracket, i fixed this with a bolt. Obviously both things are a concern on a boat.

You need a marine-grade TV bracket that retails for $1,490. I can get you one if you like.

TYSON 12-10-2009 01:31 PM

I'll build you one for $1475. free shipping
