ORLANDO, Florida (AP) -- A federal drug agent shot himself in the leg during a gun safety presentation to children in what police describe as an accident.

He drew his .40-caliber duty weapon and removed the magazine, according to the police report. He then pulled back the slide and asked an audience member to look inside the gun and confirm it wasn't loaded.



Witnesses said when the agent released the slide, one shot fired into the top of his left thigh. The gun was pointed at the floor.

A guy I knew, him and his dad were into collecting guns. One day they were messing with them in his dad's house. He thought the thing was empty and ended up shooting a hole through a table. They were very surprised!

my friends dad and uncle are cops and a while ago they got a new gun and they were looking at it and taking off the safety i think and his dad ended up shooting his knee..it went right out the other side

When I was growing up a friend of mine was messing with a shot gun, it went off and he literally blew his liitle sisters head off. Never saw that kid after that. family moved and I remember hearing he was in bad shape mentally.

I dont see why there can't be more electric weapons. There's no side effects and theres a 1 in a million chance that you would have complications from being shocked. It shoots like a gun, has a pretty far range (probably not very useful if you snipe or hunt) but for home protection its more than enough.
