They cut the wrong ****, we ordered 1 1/4 inch, they brought 3/4, then offered to take $200 off of a $3800 granite order if we could live with it.
ASSHOLES! |

when does anything go right for you? ....It's just that we have too many projects.. There are always problems in home projects we just seem to be doing so many projects that each delay is a real pain in the ass because it delays more than one project... The install of the beatiful cabinets went off without a hitch.. Well we got what we ordered and Scott and his dad did a real nice job drywalling and basically reconstructing the entire kitchen. So obviously since that went okay then there has to be an issue wiht the counter tops. Scott called it way before today when they showed up.. they kept delaying cuz of the hurricane and so there shop is kinda swamped so someone got in too much of a rush and cut the wrong thickness of granite. It happens. Hopefully this will be the last project for a while - now that our house will be in decent shape and hopefully not fall down before the next hurricane. |
$200?! They should have let you have it for 50% and let you kick them in the head a couple times.
|
they should have taken way more off than that. thats almost half as thick as it was supposed to be and they wont really be able to get much use out of it anyway.
|
i can measure with that kinda accuracy, i'm way way underpaid
|
Poor Scott, he knew it wasnt thick enough when the granite was thicker than his penis is long

Should have tripped them while walked out the door. Maybe do that after they bring the right piece.

The installer dude was pretty cool, he was like well if it aint wut you ordered then dont accept it. The thing that pissed me off was, they said their paperwork said 3/4 until i found my copy, then suddenly it was 1.25. |

Bringing the wrong piece would have sucked, but then saying in around about way that your wrong and they're right. Ouch. |
I bet the guy doing the cutting was stoned. Get it, stoned?

I had a guy like that when I got my gates, they were made straight instead of graduating upwards, he was like "yup, they made a mistake but I will install these anyhow until the new ones are made" I thought that was very cool of them, they should have laid the thin **** down for you temporarily |

yeah.. they only wanted to knock off $200 for some material almost half as thick? they are ******* nuts.. you should have kicked him in the balls..

How to build a temp kitchen for under $200!
The faucet and reverse osmosis purifier are the only items that will be used in the actual final product, the since was $42 and is a flimsy pile of ****. The counter tops were $39 each, two 6 foot sections. At least makes our house guests a little more comfortable next week. Garbage disposal, dishwasher, everything is hooked up. At least nice to be able to drink out of a real glass and eat off a real plate. |
Nice improvisation! It's gonna be sweet when its done!
|
i love you scott.
|
So... How'd you cut the countertops? I was thinking about picking up some corrian and using the existing tops as a template, but I have no idea how to cut or install a counter.

Corian will cost you as much as granite and cutting it yourself could end up costing you a bundle, that is just a formica top, i cut it with a combination of jigsaw, skillsaw and sawsall. Ideally you would make your long cuts with a table saw or radial arm saw. |
make a counter out of ductape and cardboard !
|
Make a countertop out of the printout of the "I'm at a customer's house" thread!
|
Make the countertop using 89Rag's Fasteners!!

If you want a splash board you will have to glue that too its not a easy thing, the adhesive is only sold by suppliers, involves sanding, gluing and more sanding of the seams, etc... |
