Yea, wow that plastic one that came with the truck has fucked it up, it's wore the paint off undereath the liner, gonna start to rust i would assume.
Shitty..... Don't think i am getting my air suspension before we take off for the keys :( |
I'm a fan of line-x, had mine in the pick-up for 4 years, still tough as ever!
|
The line-x dude was kind of funky when i called, like "well yea if you really want me to do it, i guess"
The rhino liner dude was $50 more and actually acted like he wanted to do it. lol |
service always wins then even if it is a little more, Rhino is good stuff too, just a little thinker I guess, the texture.
Wierd that someone in business would be so ho-hum, that line-x place won't be open too long. |
i always tell people not to get those plastic bedliners, they just sit there and destroy the bed of your truck without you noticing it.
Rhino Liner is nice, I believe its applied cold thats why its a bit thicker, as well as tougher. Line-X is a hot applied liner, thats why its a bit thinner. IIRC, but i havent looked it up in a while. Also i think on rhino liner you cant really chip it as easily as Line-X cause it is thicker. But to tell you the truth i never really was able to **** up the Line-X coating either, and ive thrown all kinds of **** in the bed of that truck. I was considering having my engine bay Line-X'd, I had the interior of my Jeep Line-X'd, makes for an awesome offroad trip without doors, once youre done you just hose out the interior. kevin. |
I have seen a pickup with the exterior of the roof done, 1st gen dgodges are notorius for the channel sealing flaking out and leaking, this cures the problem
|
Can it still dent? I've always wondered about that.
I have a slight dent in the back of the bed, near the cab, from the time a trans came loose from its tie downs and slid forward abrubtly during a panic stop, the coating never cracked, just contorted with the dent. |
Mmmm, I want to get a beat up wrangler and line-x or rhino the entire thing. inside, outside, and undercarriage! That would be so kick ass ****!

I need to get a bedliner put in before winter myself. More than likely going with Rhino since they seem to be the closest.
|
how much does it usually run for the liner? i want to put one in the 94 f-150, to be nice to my dad, i never buy him anything nice. i also have to replace the steering box, one of the seals busted, and you have to add power steering every time you drive it!
|
I have yet to price one. I am a lazy ****, maybe Scott will give an answer.
those steering boxes on the fords you dont have to replace the whole thing, you can actually replace the seal without ever removing it from the car. Bring it to a shop that knows what its doing. ive replaced a ton of them, it requires some knowledge tho as you have to use the powersteering system to pop the old seal out of the box. kevin. |
