I think I posted about these a few months ago the first time around. A guy offered them to me for 100 bucks each but I couldn't talk my dad into letting me park them on our property. I now have a place to park them, so they're mine.



One is a FB (He thinks its an 84) Its red and in pretty good condition other than the front bumper cover is broken and its missisng the passenger side section of the spoiler. It has a body kit on it (side skirts, custom rear bumper) the front air dam is smushed (looks like it hit a curb and just broke off) It is a GS 5 speed with a carb.... He has not tried to work on it any, but it does have compression (I checked)



Car 2 is a FC. its an 89 GTU. nothing special on this one. it does have a sunroof and spoiler, the body is pretty dented up, but not horrible. There is no battery in it and it looks pretty abused. right at 100k on the clock. the interior is in good shape though, so I'm gonna steal the dash and stuff out of it. well, rain all day today + dirt lot for parking cars = mud mud mud and no car delivery. Hopefully I'll be getting them tomorrow...

well... I went by the guys house. he has the 89 loaded on the car hauler, but I didn't bother knocking on his door. hopefully it will be here before the end of the day... not sure though...



how much does a clutch slave cylinder go for from an 84 FB? supposedly thats all thats wrong with it.

The piston rings are pretty cheap for those cars.

I got mine pretty cheap, If I remember it was like 60 bucks I think? When I got my 7 the clutch went straight to the floor, my slave was leakin like a son ofa bitch. I replaced that and ordered the master and sure as **** it went like two weeks later. on a FB?



this will be my 3rd FC (still have the second one) and second FB. the first FB didn't have any drivetrain probs, so I never had to work on anything but the body... I only had it for like 2 months before selling it for 3 times what I paid...

there is a good chance that I'm gonna be parting this one out soon. I was trying to crank it today and it came close to starting, but then smoke started coming from some wiring under the hood..... blew the egi fuse also.... don't know whats bad, but if I can't get it to start with a few hours of work, its getting parted.

PROGRESS!!!



I did some rewiring and did the ATF trick since the car has been sitting for 3 years and got some activity. it fired up, ran pretty rough for a few seconds then died.



I'm thinking 3 year old gas + faulty injector wiring (fixed now) is the culprit. I'm gonna flush the tank and lines and put some fresh stuff in it and see if that helps....

well, we run the only store for 5-6 miles in any direction, so I know pretty much everyone around here. I get people offering me stuff like this all the time. And if I need something, I just ask a few people and usually they have, or know someone who has what I'm looking for.

I remembered that I know where 4 FB's are that I can rob parts off of... I gonna go get a slave cyl or two (so I have a better chance of getting a working one) and the same for a master. I'm also gonna rob a hood and front bumper. and an air cleaner. other than that, the fb is pretty good....

Todays progress:



I decided that the 3 year old bad gas needed to be siphoned out of the tank. so I did it. I also got to learn what 3 year old gas tastes like, and I guess I accidentally swallowed some, because now every time I burp, the taste and smell comes back. That happed at about 8:30 this mornin and now its 4:00 and still hasn't gone away.



I have done the ATF trick twice, but havent got it to crank again... the battery started dying, so i have it charging right now. I left the plugs out of the car and turned it over a few times to blow any gas out and hopefully unflood it.... it gives a solid chug chug chug sound when it turns over, so the compression is there.....
