Finally started the ITO motor. Straight 3.5 to the old Greddy.

I bet it couldnt pass the db requirement at the track much less at a light in town. What do you guys use as an add-in that doesnt kill power?

Would a staight flow truck muffler work @ midpipe? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

I'll telll you what WONT work:

FLOWMASTERS

I have had good luck with a spintech as a pre-silencer and a magnaflow as a muffler

Next exhaust will be the LAva Rock with a borla

Hay Banz...my Mazda Comp muffler was the best DEEEEEEP! Then they went with a LAVA rock. I think that went a little with a metal sound. No **** I would never go with Flowmasterflex either. I wonder about the Borla XR1 but damn expensive.

flowmasters specifically say "not for use with rotary"..they melt.

i *hear* the borla xr1 is good, but still gives a nice sound.

and yea those are like $200 almost.

I love my Borla XR-1. I've got nothing between it and the turbo. It's sounds nice at idle, but drones a bit at cruise and gets pretty loud at WOT. I don't think $179. or whatever it cost is all that expensive when you consider that you'll never need another one.

I've got a pair of 3.5" Magnaflows on mine, it's loud all the time, but at least not painfully loud like it was with just the header. I like the way it sounds at idle, but I'm sure the police will not agree. The idle is very bassy compared to most turbo rotaries with a normal catback.
