They assault society like crazy.

For those of you who didn't watch it, it was about "The Passion" and how it sparked anti-semitic feelings within the general public...also, Cartman, the president of the Mel Gibson fanclub, emulates Hitler and basically leads the people who like the movie to march down the street, yadda, yadda...

I still cannot even comprehend how Hitler just took control of a nation...

i know how he did, learned in history. basically he got lucky.

and 1gendreamer, one of my great greta uncles was in the devision that liberated Dachau.

theres one picture that i want to post, but i cant find it. its of a wall that has quite a few of the prisoners, and among them is one of a girl smiling. very disturbing when you see all of the other faces on the people.

Hitler was an amazing motivational speaker. No joking his presence when speaking was amazing. He took advantage of a bad economy and used nationalism whip up a ferver of patriotism. Took a group of people singled them out and made scapegoats out of them

Unfortunatly society never learned from it.

Look at something like a european football game. opposing fans will kill each other if given the chance.

Some here. A team looses a city will go nuts rioting.

After 911 some idiots decided they needed to beat up anyone that looked even remotely middle eastern.

I have not dont it yet but intend to. There is a holocaust museum in Washington DC that is supposed to be amazing. You get a card with a persons name on it when you walk in and you find out what happened to them as you near the end of the museum tour. Most end up dead.

you would be suprised to find out there were a lot of non-jews in the concentration camps. There were a lot of people that refused to go along w/ Hitlers ideals and they were thrown in with the Jews.

This is why I don't like seeing stuff like this. I know how I am, and as soon as I see one image or paragraph (like Bobby wrote), I become engulfed and I want to learn every detail and see everything. It's so shocking it totally distracts me from what's happening in the world immediately around me and I get VERY into it.

I love it and hate it at the same time.

I just spend alot of time reading articles related to Bobby's paragraph and looked at a bunch of photos including from his link and other sites. Unreal stuff.

i feel the same way, its like you dont wanna hear the ****, than you hear the **** and all the sudden this whole oppinion on the situation lasts in your head for the entire night.

No more wolfenstein 3d before bed mr. trenchcoat sir.

Not exactly.

You can thank the Versailles treaty for that. Basically, the treaty left the country completely destroyed. The citizens were starving, poor, there was no economy, hyperinflation, and a weak government.

Hitler basically created an enemy for the German people. When people have a common enemy it unites them. It gives them a purpose. Hitler’s enemy was the Jews, and the socialists, etc.

Hitler gained power at first by making Speeches in Beer Halls. His Beer Hall putsch (where he basically tried to create an uprising) failed, and Hitler was thrown in jail. Hitler wrote Mien Kamph (my struggle) which was a "autobiography" of his life. It was nothing more then a piece of German propaganda. Many Germans read it and gobbled everything up. It pointed the blame for the county’s problems at all of Hitler’s enemies. When he got out of jail, he continued his NAZI power drive. The Kaiser of Germany appointed him chansler of Germany to keep him in check. As soon as the Kaiser died, Hitler appointed himself Kaiser.

Meanwhile Hitler’s SA took out all of his enemies in Germany.

The NAZI party's power gained quickly in the German parliament. They went from having 2 seats to holding almost majority.

The Nazi’s overwhelming influence in the parliament allowed Hitler to centralize his power. Eventually all the power was given directly to Hitler, and Germany was basically a police state with Hitler at the helm.

Hitler was a genius leader and super powerful speaker.

Yeah, including some of hitlers Top Dogs too!

Martin Luther, hitlers Chair of Interior Ministry, was thrown in a CC because hitler suspected he was plotting against him...
