As many of you may have already noticed there is an integrated IRC chat room that I added to Nopistons.com. This was a fairly extensive addition to the board, but I needed to blow a little steam off tonight and stay up late so this is how I did it LOL



It is fairly self explanatory, java applet and irc. All the options can be set from your control panel, I am still working through a few bugs so please let me know if you bump into any.



It is full irc, so for those that so not want to use the irc integration so if you would rather access via irc here are the details:



server: chat.irchat.tv

port: 6667

channel: #nopistons



It has a spot for a password, do not put a password here unless you register yourself on the irc network, this can be done by logging into the chatroom and typing: /msg NickServ register [password] [email]



leave the brackets off, then you may put your password into your profile.

The irc server is a little slow to connect, but it's a free server, I am not putting irc on any of my boxes.

Hmm, you shouldn't have to enter a password unless you are registered on the on the irc nickserv. Very odd.....

Umm no, shouldn't say unable to connect. It could be a proxy issue or simply a conspiracy against you LOL

ok, so how do I get into the channels..

I tiwll automatically put you in the nopistons channels. Otherwise to access other channels there is a channels button at the top.

It looks like the irc server pooped so give it a try in a bit.

Actually, it isn't available right now, I am goingto upgrade the forum software in a few days so we'll go from there, but bascially no uses it so I prolly won't bother.

I spoke with TheCamel last night on IRC, the channel is working great. You can use Trillian to access the IRC, it's free and easy to use. If you have any questions about setting it up PM me. Otherwise you can wait till phinsup post's the java IRC applet
