My god I've had this thing a day and I already hate the piece of ****. First off, I have a deck on the boat that controls ipods, however it doesn't control the new ipods, when I called apple they said buy a new deck LOL So I said screw you, I'll buy the old model save $50 bucks and not buy a new deck for it.



Also it has this annoying **** where when you tilt it it goes into "coverflow" ok in coverflow you can't adjust the volume because the cocksucker has to be tilted up right. Next complaint the power plug and the audio plug are too close you have to buy the special "mini" stereo plug which happens to cost $19.99 for a ******* audio cable from apple. **** it they are going back. Also **** Alltel, had to cancel my internet service through them because their roaming agreement with sprint is all fucked up and even though it shows I am covered on their coverage map, i am not I have been using sprint towers.

Also on a side note it takes just a smidge of bitching and apple will take it back without the restocking fee.

Does the technology serve us, or are we merely its slaves?

Didn't say I hate apple, actually i was very pleased with their customer service, I just don't like the new Nano. Got me an ipod touch on the way, bought the 1st gen, saved a fortune!! Apple even credited my card the minute fedex shipped it. Oh and I just looked they even credited the damn shipping back!!!

Hate to burst your bubble, but when you tilt the touch on it's side it will display in album mode. However I think it still has volume controls on the side.

You can turn that off, but yes there are separate volume controls. The coverflow thing would be cool IF you could change the damn volume.

Funny, but I don't think my advanced age has anything to do with it. I tend not to be a gadget-oriented guy. I own a basic cell phone on a prepaid plan. My idea of portable music is my car stereo (stock). I have an Onkyo home theater setup in my living room, a nice Sony system hooked up to my computer, and a decent stereo in both the attached and detached garages. One is a 20-year old Technics system, the other is a Marantz reciever hooked up to some original AR speakers that date back to at least the early 70's (a friend gave them to me). Cool thing about home stereo is that the **** lasts forever. Let me know how that ipod is working in 30 years. Ha!

i like gadgets always have as far as being compatible with anything in three years, i'll prolly have already upgraded to something else by then, so dont you worry about me. What I've done is gotten a 7 dollar adapter from circuit city that takes the input for the earphone jack and converts it to a audio out that can jack into any stereo with audio inputs...yes even my dads 40 year old 8 track player with the 700 inputs on the back can take advantage of this new technology but still play old technology at the same time.



Kudos to Apple for making how you listen to the music as much of a veriety as what you can put in it.
