TOKYO (CBS.MW) - Ford Motor Cop., Mazda Motor Corp. and Chinese automaker Changan Automotive Group said Friday that they received an approval from the Chinese government to jointly set up an auto plant in China. The auto plant, a 190,000 square-meter facility to be constructed near Nanjing in the Jiangsu Province, will be the first joint auto plant for the three companies, Mazda said in a statement. The plant will have an initial annual production capacity of 160,000 units, but capacity could be raised to as many as 200,000 units a year, the statement said. |
