The 8 is a lot taller, especially in the ass.

I don't see it man.. I have not seen a single RX7 Concept that hasn't looked like an RX8.

9BASE3 11-09-2003 05:22 PM

I'll keep my FD. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

wraith 11-09-2003 05:27 PM

i'm with you srce it definetly has a much more aggresive stance and the fenders are much sharper (kinda gives a image of fangs). i still don't think it compairs to the FD but it is much better than the previous concepts.

rx7girltk 11-09-2003 05:34 PM

i think its ok. i like the fd best but it is not that bad looking

Latest Autoweek states that Mazda has already decided to not build another RX-7 due to the poor RX-8 sales.

CrashFactory 11-09-2003 05:44 PM

See, that's great corporate thinking, The RX-8 didn't sell well, especially after we lied about the hp, and won't take care of it, so to punish them more, we won't make an RX-7 either....

Yet another mistake in a series of many for Mazda. Why hasn't that guy been fired yet? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Fd3BOOST 11-09-2003 06:08 PM

Yea looks like the front clip of a rx8 welded onto a celica. With Z-4 sides skirts.

Absolutely boring.

No thanks. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683698.gif

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif They can never make a better 7 than the fd anyhow..

Fd3BOOST 11-09-2003 06:10 PM

I like that one..

2ndGenerationY 11-09-2003 11:27 PM

I think that if there ever is another generation of RX-7 it should not have a boxy body style. It should be rolling / sleek, leave the wannabe spaceship crap for Celicas and the like. I'm also agreeing with no pop-ups not being a true RX-7...

i'm guessing prolly because they planned on making the new 7 off of the 8 chassis... on the sales comment, i'm surprised to hear that they aren't selling more, i have seen more and more around here and that is pretty rare to see so i figured that they would be selling much better in other locations. the point is, ever since the first concept they have progressively been improving their looks, also wtf is wrong with the way the 8 looks, i think they look very nice, also i don't think the consumers have really any control on the growing "space age" theme that most modern cars have been embracing. example. first time i saw the 350z i thought it was a little over the top, but it has grown on me and i feel that it is one of the best looking cars on the road. imo i think if they make a new 7 it will be ahead of it's time (like always) and we will all learn to love it,,, https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

About RX-8 sales, acording to Mazda's sal;es numbers they are smack on selling about 30,000 a year like they originally said they wanted. Dunno why they state it's selling low.

Sean....

I just figured it out yous guys. All these foolish mistakes by Mazda and poor management. It is crystal clear to me now. It's all Ford's fault! It is that cursed union remanifesting itself once again. Here is an example of how FOKT things are for Ford and Ford finance.

I went to test drive an 8. And of course I loved so we are talking numbers. To cut to the chase; The best deal they could cut me was 488* 60 months on a LEASE!!! Do the math! That is more than buying the car!!! I was furious and insulted. So I asked the guy, "You want me to pay 29K for this car over the next 5 years and then still owe 14K! Why when I can buy the car for less?" And to clarify matters my credit is pristine no no no I mean squeaky ******* clean. I have a beacon score of 680 and 690! I get pissed of all over again just thinking about it. Then to make matters MO BETTER. I get a sales flyer the day after I got my seven for a 300 a month lease for 60 months... This was less than a month later. FOK FORD MAN!!!
