PVA is ok for really thin things, if you want a high quality mold
that you can pull multiple parts off of you want to use mold release wax. a thin mold like that one for that trunk lid is ok for a couple of pulls, the parts will have a tendency to warp the mold a bit in a mold that thin, maybe not a big deal if fitment isnt a issue. Then again Im used to working on fiberglass parts that have failed to begin with, so maybe I tend to overkill things rather then see them fail. Plus the more you wax and polish a mold the easier the parts will pull and they will have a good finish on them, like a boat. |
so wax is a good one then... me and my freinds made a hood skoop and we just put suran wrap under it and it came off just fine... but yah um i am going to do the hood first.. i have it off my black fb... i had made a hood scoop out of sheet meatal and put it on a wile ago, my plans are to use a buch of bondo and make it all smooth and stuff and make one it should cost me about 50 bucks i think total to make but i will take pics and post when i have th finished product... oh the scoop is not center it is off set i had a ram air setup on the stock carb, so it is right over the stock carb location... would be a great advantige for holly users or ida uses, or just stock....
