You know i watched the fight last night,he ran his mouth about trinidad, then ran his mouth forever about oscar d -----this guy is just a brawler and --shows lack of boxing skill everytime-Oscar killed him with the jab --and when the crowd was going crazy when he got oscar in the ropes---he wasnt even connecting then.IHOPE THIS GUY SHUTS HIS MOUTH NOW.Sorry i love boxing and when someone talks smack so much and never backs it up--Hes a chump!

Rotarydragon 09-15-2002 08:56 PM

Boxing? There's still boxing out there? Whoa!

Turbo II 09-15-2002 10:09 PM

yeah, vargas has to learn how to box in the middle of the ring. that was just a lesson for him. BTW I won like 300 off that fight. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/37.gif

I actually had the pleasure of meeting Trinidad in Vegas in 1999 - I was there for the Holyfield/Lewis fight at the Thomas & Mack center (I should scan the pass - its f$^# huge!)

Trinidad was great, circulating throughout the crowd as the undercard boxers were being weighed in. I gathered that his english wasn't so great, but he shook hands and signed autographs in a very polite and persaonable manner. Gave me a great impression of him.

Rotarydragon 09-16-2002 12:42 PM

I've not watched boxing in years now.

phinsup 09-16-2002 12:45 PM

Vargas is a thug and it showed. He spent himself in the first 3 rounds, spent 3 through 6 bairly keeping up and went to hell after that. Oscar knows how to box, he has skillz, if vargas has to go more than 6 he's done.

Here's me (lookin' pudgy, but I SWEAR it's just the dorky way I was standing) with Felix at the aforementioned meeting.

Man props to you. My Cousin Oscar Suarez is the trainer for the Prince Nassem and a South American champion named (Last name) "Freitas" My older brother use to box, he has meet a couple of famous boxer but not me. It must have been extremely cool to hang around does warriors. I respect trinidad even though most of the time I see he is just a one dimesion fighter but I like the brute power he has, something similar to Mike Tyson the man was a pure caveman just wanted to knock your head off. I like a boxer that takes no prisoners....

Rotarydragon 09-17-2002 08:44 AM

I got to meet George Foreman which was great. One of the last of the greats left running around, now days it's Don King's hair and "Thug Life!" taking over.

Besides how many heavyweights could come back at 40 some odd and reclaim the title?

Yea you do mock what people do for a living so I wouldn't get too carried away... I seem to remember a "webmaster is still learning" quote from you about this very site you are on.

He was kidding... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt too.
