I've got an 86 na, and every now-and-then I like to go to the national forest near my house, go down some dirt road, and do donuts. Once I get new tires and suspension and anything else, I won't do it anymore. I was just wondering if anyone else enjoyed the unpaved roads.

j9fd3s 12-05-2002 01:38 PM

when i had my stock 86 base i used to drive it over curbs, it had the ground clearance

I took my FC off road once, taking a turn a bit too hot.

Sinful7 12-05-2002 04:42 PM

lancer rounds the corner: "vroooooom"

sti rounds the corner: "vrooom"

TurboII rounds the corner: "braaaaaaaaaaaaaap"

I've been tinkering with the idea of throwing an FC body onto a Bronco frame, throwing some big `ole 44's underneath it and heading out to the mud holes....

*puts on flame suit*

It would be kinda neat :bigthumg:

christi 12-06-2002 12:31 AM

To the car I own now? No, I couldn't do it..

if I had a beater? yup. I would.

btw, why isn't this in the 2nd gen forum? It seems that most people post gen-related stuff in here, and not in the proper sectinos, but that's my opinion, anyway...

j9fd3s 12-06-2002 01:19 AM

i almost drove my miata into a creek

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-06-2002 01:40 AM

I took my vert off road when I-5 was covered with snow. I didn't get very far being that I was spinning.

I bet you're one of those kids who would put his slot cars through the window and run his R/C cars out into the street under cars.

j9fd3s 12-06-2002 12:09 PM

I drove mine down flights of stairs...wooden stairs...all that plastic, they bounce really high

UniqueTII 12-06-2002 12:13 PM

I drove my slinky down stairs.

I have an FC, but I guess this topic could go for any car.

I drive a Bronco at work, I'd love to just drive right off the road in a random direction.

:bsflag: I could never get those damned things to work properly!!

UniqueTII 12-06-2002 12:21 PM

Mine would go down stairs, alone or in pairs, and make a slinkety sound. All it was was a spring. A spring, a marvelous thing. Everyone knows, it's Slinky™.

Baldy 12-06-2002 12:22 PM

I'd always get them tangled up, then when they're untangled they're majorly warped. well, the metal ones anyway

UniqueTII 12-06-2002 12:24 PM

You had a rough childhood.

Baldy 12-06-2002 12:28 PM

yeah, and those things that spin fast and make your hotwheels shoot out, we had to crank ours by hand...no lie

j9fd3s 12-06-2002 12:29 PM

i had to push my hot wheels

mike

Baldy 12-06-2002 12:30 PM

sad thing is, ours didn't have wheels. we called them "hot axles." when they went through the hand-cranked spinny thing, they flung in random directions, and, yadda yadda yadda, my brother can't finish his sentences

UniqueTII 12-06-2002 12:45 PM

I had one of those old tracks for the hotwheels...not like the ones now...it was powered by gravity. I think I had all of the pieces for it once.

j9fd3s 12-06-2002 12:46 PM

hey i remember those! it was cool

mike

UniqueTII 12-06-2002 12:47 PM

You took the pieces to mine, didn't you, John Secada?

j9fd3s 12-06-2002 01:50 PM

no it was michael bolton i swear!

mike

75 Repu 12-06-2002 01:52 PM

CaptainsKoobing 12-06-2002 02:02 PM

that dude never came out with any other songs..

Race_87RX7 12-06-2002 08:59 PM

i screwed my broken rc car up, i set it about 5 feet away from me in the driveway(its paved), and got an old crankshaft bearing from my blaster, and used the air compresser to spin it up, once it was up rlly high i let it go into the side of the car, holy **** lol.
