Alright, as far as overall musical quality, lyrical quality, and meaningfulness of the song, I'd have to say that hands down the winner is https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif TOOL https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif
However, when I am in a https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif different mood, Marly or Sublime is my favorite. What do you think? |
i've been listening to old u2 lately, they were really pissed!

i love tool, but my all-time favorite band is AC/DC. all of their songs put me in a good mood no matter what. especially the older ones before Bon died...
|
I don't like Tool, but don't get me wrong... Maynard is a freaking genius. The stuff he and his crew perform is just magical. Classic rock is OK, I like Stevie Ray Vaughn a lot. Usually I listen to a lot of Rap and Jpop; quite the unlikely duo eh? Mostly the early to mid ninety's rap like old snoop stuff and bone thugs. As for the Jpop I like a good Utada Hikaru sesh or maybe some Dragon Ash (even though they're not really POP)

NOFX is the ****. El Jefe has definately not lost his touch these years. Their new CD is damn good. I also like dropkick murphys. The bagpipes gives the music a very nice touch.
|
NOFX and Lagwagon are two of my favorite bands Ive never heard of antiskeptic though I'll have to check them out. Have you heard of AFI, Alkaline Trio, Starting Line or Rufio? They are pretty good to. I have about 350- 400 punk songs on my computer.
|
Lagwagon, Less Than Jake, MxPx, Millencolin, Metallica, (old) Black Flag, The Gameplan, (old) Mighty Mighty Bosstones, the Ataris, (old) Pearl Jam, (old) Blink 182, Goldfinger, Stephen Lynch (not a band, I know), Strung Out, Unwritten Law, CKY, Bigwig, Bloodhound Gang, (old) REM, Ice Titan, (old) Green Day, WIZO, Ramones, Blues Traveler, etc. It's a big list.
|
I always prefer people who play instruments over those that do not. Not that I don't like synthesized stuff, it just isn't top if the list when I'm choosing. Offspring still remains one of my favorites, except for their stuff before Smash.
And CCR will always be in the top for me. That's the only music I remember listening to as a kid. Damn Tina Turner and California Raisins screwing up their stuff!!! |
I am playing the **** out of Offspring right now. I am pretty heavy into older rock and metal.
Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Older Metallica (The new stuff is okay but the driving force was Hetfield's neuroses and he has sought treatment so the music ain't as good), Venom, Cirith Ungol, etc..... I am also a big fan of Pantera (Especially the older stuff from Projects in the Jungle) I could go on without ever having a true favorite. |

I did buy the self-titled album, and it sounded like it was recorded in a phone booth. That's the one I was referring to. It's just that smash was the first one I heard, and I bought every CD after that. |
The one with the fire on the cover... I don't know what its called either.
I like the phonebooth sound though. I guess I kinda like the crust punk over the cleaner stuff. |
