Just band-aid it w/ a weld job, or find a scrap yard with the correct parts if your worried about it.

Wrap the pipe in some asbestos insulation, to insure a good bond, use some good lead based paint first.

He should also put paint thinner in his vents before he turns on the heat. :P

Coat the pipe in nice thick coats of old desil oil....helps kill mosqitos
