Delerium - The Silence Feat Sarah McLachlan(DJ Tiesto mix)

I pictured driving my 86 Sport in dark blue going high speed going 150+ car smooth as silk all done up and what not and all your hear is the faint sound of 8K rpm and the spool of a large turbo.

I really choked up eyes watered and snffiled.

none of you are man enough to admit it LOL

phinsup 09-23-2007 07:08 PM

my dad told me never to cry unless i had to go to the emergency room, so if there was a song playing on the way to the ER then maybe it's possible https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif now don't go gettin your mangina in a pinch, we're all proud you used nopistons as a coming out place.

Anyhow, there's a few songs that always put a lump in my throat, only two i can think of off hand are the "The Dutchman" by Michael Smith and "My Old Man" by Steve Goodman (this track was put on the album in one take, Steve said he couldn't sing it more than once all the way through without breaking up and it's an amazing track.

RX7 13B 4 UR AZZ 09-23-2007 08:39 PM

good job sir bringing a little emotion to rx-7 madness is a good thing i think !!!

Dysfnctnl85 09-24-2007 12:28 PM

Yes. One song: Avenged Sevenfold - I Won't See You Tonight (Part 1)

TYSON 09-24-2007 12:32 PM

Yeah, half my small hometown singing 'Amazing Grace' at my grandmothers funeral.

My eyes water around my car because of the exhaust, not music. Can't hear the stereo anyway.

1988RedT2 09-24-2007 03:16 PM

I think becoming a parent makes you a LOT more emotional. After a couple of beers, certain songs (damned if I can name one right now) will get me a little worked up. Yup.

I'm with Tyson on the 7. I don't have a stereo in the T2. Wouldn't want anything to interfere with the sweet music of that engine exhaling through my 3" Borla XR-1

TYSON 09-24-2007 04:28 PM

haha, I meant my 7 is so loud you want to wear earplugs cruising down the highway.

I thought we agreed we could see other people? Besides, I have my goats.

Rob x-7 09-24-2007 05:04 PM

dont worry, the crying will stop when the pills wear off

TYSON 09-24-2007 05:05 PM

hmm, 9 posts before a thread about crying went gay, we're showing real restraint these days!

phinsup 09-24-2007 05:11 PM

no, it went gay in my reply, which was the first non-author reply

The Dutchman

(Michael Smith)

The Dutchman's not the kind of man

Who keeps his thumb jammed in the dam

That holds his dreams in

But that's a secret that only Margaret knows

When Amsterdam is golden in the summer]

Margaret brings him breakfast

She believes him

He thinks the tulips bloom beneath the snow

He`s mad as he can be but Margaret only sees that sometimes

Sometimes she sees her unborn children in his eyes

CHO: Let us go to the banks of the ocean

Where the walls rise above the Zuiderzee

Long ago, I used to be a young man

And dear Margaret remembers that for me

The Dutchman still wears wooden shoes

His cap and coat are patched with the love

That Margaret sewed in

Sometimes he thinks he's still in Rotterdam

He watches tug boats down canals

And calls out to them when he thinks he knows the Captain

'Til Margaret comes to take him home again

Through unforgiving streets

That trick him though she holds his arm

Sometimes he thinks that he's alone and calls her name

The windmills whirl the winter in

She winds his muffler tighter,

They sit in the kitchen

Some tea with whiskey keeps away the dew

He sees her for a moment, calls her name

She makes the bed up humming some old love song

A song Margaret learned when the tune was very new

He hums a line or two, they hum together in the night

The Dutchman falls asleep and Margaret blows the candle out.

Steve Goodman - My Old Man Lyrics

I miss my old man tonite

And i wish he was here with me

With his corny jokes and his cheap cigars

He could look you in the eye and sell you a car.

That's not an easy thing to do,

But no one ever knew a more charming creature

On this earth than my old man.

He was a pilot in the big war in the u.s. army air corps

In a c - 47 with a heavy load

Full of combat cargo for the burma road.

And after they dropped the bomb

He came home and married mom

And not long after that

He was my old man.

And oh the fights we had

When my brother and i got him mad;

He'd get all boiled up and he'd start to shout

And i knew what was coming so i tuned him out.

And now the old man's gone, and i'd give all i own

To hear what he said when i wasn't listening

To my old man'

I miss my old man tonite

And i can almost see his face

He was always trying to watch his weight

And his heart only made it to fifty-eight.

For the first time since he died

Late last night i cried.

I wondered when i was gonna do that

For my old man.

RX7 13B 4 UR AZZ 09-24-2007 09:41 PM

this thread took a turn for the worse but at least its back on track LOL I THINK ! ! !

Crying is not gay

Crying because you miss your 7 and wish you where driving it while hearing a killer song not gay

crying because your clothes faded in the dryer GAY

Rob x-7 09-24-2007 09:55 PM

music sucks in sevens, the exaust drone just about cancels out bass

I concur! Sometimes I can really get wrapped up in a story/song/movie, and really feel what it would be like to be in the position of the character/subject.

Like that "Cats in the Cradle" song, sometimes when I hear it I imagine being the dad, and it gets me a little choked up.

Then my son comes in and says "daddy, can we go play baseball?" and I'm all like "shut up, I'm listening to my tunes!" j/k!

It's all imagination anyway;

the faint sound of 8K rpm and the spool of a large turbo.

RX7 13B 4 UR AZZ 10-02-2007 07:00 PM

If my car where a stock motor 86 sport Def Imaginary but 150 mph might be possible my car is going to be a turbo 13b-re + GT-40 + Greedy FMIC + Microtech so i hope!!! 150+ is possible and i have noticed that when the rpm's ramp up it seems to me like the sound begins to faint plus i got the trunk area and floor with dynomat so even when it was N/A W/headers it was not loud

But for now it is still in the future and just imagining it when that song came on made tears come to my eyes

Maxt 10-02-2007 07:45 PM

Wynonas big brown Beaver..... Primus... Its a cry of remembrance and fear..

teknics 10-03-2007 05:37 PM

why would you buy a greddy fmic? you have an FC....the piping is easy as hell, and just buying a core is cheap as hell.

only fd owners buy name brand FMIC's cause they cant deal with figuring out the piping.

Did you not read his first post? He clearly said that his eyes were all watery and he was sniffling. Now he might be able to install a complete kit, but how is he going to see clearly enough to route, fab, and install the piping himself?

drunkin_idiot 10-05-2007 07:04 PM

I cry cause I drive a sentra....and I miss my seven, when i stop being poor ill buy another

RX7 13B 4 UR AZZ 10-13-2007 01:10 AM

I did not buy the greddy FMIC I got it for free and the microtech LT-10s also free but i could very well have fabbed my own pipeing I have installed the LT 10s 3 times now on my car it will be the 4th
