EMO short for emotional is an offshoot of that east coast hardcore punk.

I can understand how you feel about going to an emo concert, but I feel the same way about most punk shows these days. There are just too many posers and wanna be skater punks. This shouldn't be taken as an endorsment for, or admission of liking emo. Emo isn't my cup of tea, but it has it's place as does hardcore, ska, pop-punk(not to be confused w/ psuedo-punk), etc.
What do you guys consider punk these days? The only newer bands I've heard were some of the Fat Wreck Chords bands. Just curious.
