So where's the technology at on these? Anyone have one? I am sure someone does. Do they misburn a lot? Is it simple to copy movies and games? (yea i know u need chips for the console).
Kind of thinking I might pick one up, but I remember my first CD Burner which I paid a small fortune for and it burned about 1 out 3 discs. |
I burn DVDs. I have a single layer DVD burner. Movies are fairly simple, with the exception of a few titles that have a sinister new copy protection scheme (from sony, of course.) You can google for a program called DVDshrink that'll copy most movies for you with ease. I dont make many drink coasters either; I've had maybe one disc f-up on me while burning, and i've done hundreds.

What he said. DVD decrypter is also good for movies but I think they stopped supporting that one.

I've used both. DVD Shrink is by far easier to use. I have had 3 **** up out of 1000 DVD's burned (shhh.....don't tell the Feds)

AFAIK it's not illegal if you own the original copy. What I do is make an ISO file and leave it on the harddrive. There's a program called virtual drive made by the guys that make clone CD that will let you play the DVD from the ISO.

Eventually, when I get moved into a house and have a spare room, I'm going to rip all my dvds to isos, then share them on a network drive, so everyone within wifi range can access the dvd/movie/mp3/ebook/picture collection
