GB going on on the 'other' forum...

http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.ph...threadid=174408

Racelogic Traction control..

pricing starts at $697.

I ordered the base TC with a wheelspin selector (dial in wheelspin from the cockpit) with the full-throttle shift option for $820. Wohoo! No letting of the gas when you clutch it!!!!!

Sinful7 04-28-2003 01:41 PM

Oh, and witht he 63 orders that are in right now, the price is 30% off of retail. and it won't hurt your motor. and it has a money back guarantee.

Leetheslacker 04-28-2003 02:25 PM

Bleh, Tc is for loosers who cant control their right foot. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png

Plus it seems odd to have the pedal to the floor but the TC holding the engine back.....

Sinful7 04-28-2003 04:40 PM

seems fun to me.

There are 70+ supra and 7 guys that have ordered thus far.

This is the same company that manufactures traction control systems for F1 cars.

UniqueTII 04-28-2003 04:47 PM

I think it's a pretty cool idea, but I'd probably never put TC on anything I own.

What's traction control? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

TYSON 04-28-2003 06:45 PM

If only I had the cash right now https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png I'll have a hell of a time of it on street rubber at the track. Oh well.

Funny thing, it wouldn't cost me any points in the SOLO I bracket, but would probably be the most productive thing I could add at this point, short of R-compounds, which also don't cost any points. It's a fucked up world https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png

It's the angle that's setup in your pinion to release excess throttle pressure in

the tires. It basically deflates your ego while boosting your inability to comprehend

this reply.

It keeps the wheel spin down.

So how does the tc take the power away from the wheels? Does the turbo stay spooled while its working?

1Revvin7 04-29-2003 02:34 PM

If i had the loot I would get one, but I need many other things first.

The TC disables the injectors, essentially causing a misfire every so often. I was worried about this on a rotary, but racelogic has had several fitted to rotaries (as I understand) with no ill effects, and the 'other' club consensus is that it is safe. The Racelogic unit is the only aftermarket TC that is compatible, even programmed for 2 banks of injectors for the same combustion chamber.

I don't think the power loss is noticeable with moderate wheelspin dialed in. probably at 0% wheelspin, it is considerable. It's not designed to moderate power outputs, it's just designed to keep you on the edge of traction (10% wheelspin on dry road), and do that much better than you could yourself. Racelogic says that with the full throttle shift option, the turbo will stay spooled.
