is buying a cpo vehicle worth the extra hassle? if any.

and what has been your experiences?

thanks

yeah def worth it. i have an audi that was cpo, and it really helped bc with the age of the car when we got it it wouldnt have had any warranty otherwise. if you get a low mileage cpo its like getting a new car with a much better warranty.

i think that except for the extended warranty its meaningless.

Yup when I worked at the GM dealership we had two pieces of paper, one was a checklist saying we checked those items, that is what they hung on the door. Two was list of the **** wrong with the car, that we handed to the used car manager, I only fixed one of those items one time and that was breaks everything else was the next buys problem.

And you wonder why GM is begging congress for money...

plus one..

friend traded in his mazda6 with a number of issues.. dealership just took the trade and never bothered to check the car...

drove him back to pick up his new ride the following day to see his old ride with a CPO sticker on the windshield..

"Certified Pre-Owned" is just marketing speak for "Yup, we're sure it's used."

the extended warranty benefit can more then pay for itself if you have a major fix, say your transmission goes in a modern vehicle, its like a $2500 job min.

You can still have a vehicle checked out by your own mechanic when you buy from a dealer, you can ask them to change brake pads or rotors, tires, etc. as part of the deal, if not you walk.

yeah mazda was the same. except the car does have to be under warranty anyways, so we just had the one list

you would still obviously use your head, if a CPO vehicle is going for $5000 more then it would on the street then it does not make sense, but if the prices are competitive then the added warranty is worth it in my opinion.
