this has to be the most fucked up video ever

what the **** is wrong with people

Dallas cop prevents man for seeing dying mother

what would u do?

amp 03-27-2009 03:13 PM

id not have shown restraint.. id have been in jail and the story wouldve been completely different..

the family will never get that moment back.. this pig took it and tossed it aside..

reminds me of another story where law enforcement did not give way to a father to be after getting a phone call his wife was delivering...

he was stopped and held for making a right turn on red.. early in the morning with no traffic around

phinsup 03-27-2009 03:43 PM

I'm white, odds are he would have just let me go in.

phinsup 03-27-2009 03:52 PM

I also like how there is only a brief mention that this guy had his gun drawn, is that the kind of country we live in, holding guns on citizens for traffic violations? I think it only takes a little thought to figure out that had this guy not been as restrained as he was, he may very well have been a "code blue" in the adjoining trauma room.

Also for the record you have every right to have a police officer follow you to a well lit area, he is wrong in indicating that he was evading, he made no attempt to "ditch the cop" he turned his flashers on which was a clear indication he had acknowledged the police presence and he pulled into a public area. If i were a black driving an Escalade in Texas I would make sure i ALWAYS pulled over in a public, well lit place.

I know I feel a lot safer knowing this red light running, mother in law visiting psychopath is off the road, dont you?

100% with u man id of ******* flipped. and not that it make a difference but he choose a NFL running back to do it to, come on that cops sooo lucky

phinsup 03-27-2009 04:18 PM

my guess is if it werent an NFL player we would have never heard about it. the only reason they became "horrified" back at th station house was because someone said "hey ain't that guy an NFL player" at that point they prolly decided to try and "get in front of it". He'll be back on the job as soon as this blows over and the next couple gets kicked off dancing with the stars https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

jwteknix 03-27-2009 04:28 PM

yeah your right

tehy were probly like "hey isnt that guy ..."lol

Maxt 03-27-2009 05:10 PM

To the give some credit, at least the Chief had the nuts to go into the public and offer an apology.. That would never happen here in Canada, they would continually find a way to cover their asses until the issue just died of public boredom...

We have 4 officers here that tasered a guy to death in an airport contradicting their own initial testimony at an inquiry. They are changing their testimony on the fly as the video of the incident is played, showing that they were and are full of **** about the whole incident. And to get their testimony at the inquiry, they had to be given criminal charge immunity.. Such bullshit, they killed a guy, lied about it, and they get to walk...

I feel for that family in that Dallas Video, they should sue the ass off that cop privately for be such a douchebag..

TYSON 03-27-2009 05:18 PM

That is surprising to see such a frank apology from the management. That virtually guarantees payout in a lawsuit, normally the lawyers would be all over the chief to not say anything.

phinsup 03-27-2009 10:49 PM

Again, like I said would we have ever heard any statement from management had he not been a pro football player? I dunno, but I have my suspicions, they blame it on a rookie cop, but I don't see any mention of the fact that at the very end of the video there is ONE MORE police officers that showed up at some point and doesn't seem to have ANY issue with what the rookie cop did.

I still find it pretty upsetting that we live in a country where you run the risk of having a gun pointed at you for running a red light, while it doesn't surprise me it does piss me off.

So having viewed the statements from the police chief I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt here and say he really does seem genuine and I do believe that he was in fact embarrassed by what his fellow officer did and although I said previously it was possible he was just "getting in front of the issue" from what I heard and saw him say I think the guy is being pretty honest and I think it took some class to say what he said.
