these cicadas come out every 17 years. It's something like 8.8 million of these things per acre in my area. The bugs can put out 80 deceples! thats going to be one hell of a noise.
Get Dramon to hit them while drifting. That'll fix 'em...all...8 million...of them...
they've made a huge deal out of them here, but i havent seen one yet!
god i hate bugs.
https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif Where do they go for 17 years? do they hibernate for that long? Do they migrate in?
they are annoying as hell...almost as bad as a poorly welded exhaust on a civic...wait!...no!

hahaha kill them all,,,try killing all of any bug let me know how it goes https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Im sure if people exterminated them while they were dormant it would have an impact. I mean come on, you have 17 years to do it.
It would probably have an affect on natures balance, like cause a surge of african dung beetles or something. |
I havn't seen any here yet this time but if you already have them in your area I would keep an eye on you rad/oil coolers(our cars are low enough to act like a vaccum cleaner esp.the 3rd gen) to make sure that you don't overheat your rx-7 due to some dead bug carcasses being in it

agent orange the rivers!
i remember the last time those things came out. I was a little kid, and I would grab the shells off of the trees and throw them on my girl cousins.
it was funny as hell at 4 years old...... but these things are nothing. I'll show you a bug to contend with here in a month or so when they come out. They are yellow and red and black grasshoppers, some get up to about 7" long. The mostly stay in the grass in the marsh by the river, but tons of them still make their way twards streeets, and houses. I'll get a pic whenever I go fishing down there again. |

If you think we have it bad in a car, imagine the motorcycle riders. These things are about 4x the size of a Japanese beetle that infest everyones gardens. Imagine cruising along on your bike and hitting something like that at 60 mph...
yea you aint kidding. I had a bee fly up my helmet going down RT55 one day, god did that suck.
i think we should make a local carwash owner a millionaire on rotorfest.
since we'll have crushed bugs all over our bumpers on the way down |

thats where I do most of my riding. I have a windshield, but they still manage to come in from the side at exactly the right time. and beetles hurt at 60. I think one of these 6" long grasshoppers might just knock me off the damn bike!! |
