you are not alone. I knew the scientific crap was outrageously wrong, but it is in alot of movies. I just thought the special effects looked awesome, and the plot turned out to be decent too.

As for riddick, it is only mentioned in pitch black.

well Riddick is basically the main character in Pitch Black also, explains some of his background (which can be explored more fully thru the X-Box game Escape from Butcher Bay, which i hear is damn kewl) Chronicles is a sequel to Pitch Black and the X-box game is the prequel...
