I was cruisin around town the other day and a thought crossed my mind, is there really a "best" kind of gas to buy? Does the techron in Chevron gas really clean up your system like it says? Also, Arco is the cheapest out here, which is a good thing since 87 octane is still like $2 a gallon out here in so cali... so is their gas just crap, or do they have some magical refining method thats cheaper than everyone elses gas?

i believe it all comes out of the same pipe in california, because we're commies

I would never ever ever EVER put 87 octane in my FD ever again. I can definitely feel a difference. I was at the gas pump when I noticed that I accidentally pressed "87" instead of "91". It was too late, my tank was already half full, so I pulled the pump out, added octane boost, and then filled up the rest with 91...and even then, my car was bogging like a mother f*cker

Oh yeah, and those gas additives like techron and propower, I've noticed that they really do work. Well, my car actually won't pass smog no matter what I do, but the numbers on my emissions test do look better when I use Chevron or 76 gas.
I wouldn't use Arco gas on any rotary engine. Maybe for like a honda or toyota or something. Valero and Olympian are good choices of the "cheap" gas though...since they're under Chevron...so it's pretty much Chevron gas without the "techron" |
all ive heard is to stay the **** away from Techron if you gots a rotary. suposedly it will do the same damage as synth. oil...
Yo Turbovr6, my girls dad works for Sunoco...lol |
we just got a valero station in my town it's like $1.47 a gallon, i'm not sure if i like. I honestly feel a difference with sunoco gas and all others, in a good way. i tried to go to sunoco whenever i have cash, but if i have none i use my speedpass at exxon/mobil.
