I got a quote from U-haul today. Gona cost $1500 to move all my crap from Wilmington NC to Tulsa OK, and thats without a dolly for the rx7, mini goes in the truck. I will need their biggest truck to fit all my junk plus car. Anyone have any other suggestions that might be a little cheaper than $1500, or should I bend over and take it like I did during my physical the other day?

U-haul sucks! I always get stuck with their shittiest truck. Last one needed 3000 RPM to go 100 KPH. That's a diesel, BTW.

Cheapest would be to have a new employer pay your moving expenses... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Try a couple other places. Ryder at least has new trucks.

Just found a budget rental in town, will cost $1100 with a dolly. I was looking at another company that will bring a 18 wheeler out here, drop it off, i pack my stuff, they drive it to OK, drop it off, I unpack, then they pick it up, cost $1600.

I would go with the $1800 deal, they are probably insured as well

and your stuff will be in good hands.

That sounds cheap to me. I can't believe that it would pay anybody to leave a truck sit at your place while you load it (a day? two days?) and then drive it how many hours? and let it sit again while you unload it. Then the truck is in BFE and they have to get it and themselves to their next gig. I've seen moving companies charge over $10,000 to move a house of furniture a similar distance. Granted, that's with them packing it, and this is different, but it still sounds unrealistically cheap. Check them out first! And read the fine print. There may be additional charges added, like fuel costs.
