As some of you may have seen/heard, my FD is pretty darn mint. Perfect compression when I got it, came with tons of goodies, it's a 94 so it has no interior problems mechanicaly, or exterior paint problems...etc. etc., what more could I ask for?



Well, perhaps the paint color. :P



I Love black sports cars. And while FD seems to be my best decision to satisfy my need for speed, I would really love to have it all.



I could wait for the motor to go (Blah) and then repaint everything to black.



But then again, I could sell my FD (or trade) towards a nice Black 94/95 that's blown. Thereby satisfying the color desired, and getting a chance to get rid of my loan on the current FD (Given that a Blown FD is worth less than my mint one lol).



I'm *more-than-likely* about to see some commission checks roll in from Real Estate sales which is OUTSIDE my current salary (which can easily satisfy the loan payments, or I wouldn't have gotten the FD). I can make a small guess that it's possible to do something BIG for a blown FD (20b, V8, Big Single 13b, whatever...)



So what would you do? I believe the ONLY thing I compromised buying my car was the color. It runs great, has the best mods I would want on it (its mostly stock), came with tons of goodies, is a 94-Touring, etc etc.

LOL, yea. I have some of your pic's saved. I never, ever, thought Forrest Green could be a sports car color. That is, until I saw MBM.



No doubt, when clean and shiny, my car looks great! To me, the MBM color has it's own "Attitude" vs. Red being so loud, or yellow. White is sort of formal (like a Tux). MBM is just content. But it still isn't black. I just love black that much more. It's beastly, evil, and I love it.



I just would rather spend that $5-7k to get it totally painted Black (Done RIGHT) elsewhere. Kind of nutty, also, given that they came in Black. It'd be another thing to spend that kind of money to make it a color it simply can't come as (or super-rare like IBM).

I am planning on repainting the next rx7 i get, mainly because the color i want is not available, but still, I'd say its worth it, then you got new paint.

not worth all the hassle just for different paint especially if yours is fine!

Either way seems like a hassle. Buying/Selling/Finding vs. Taking the whole car apart and painting. But going the first route to get a blown black FD accomplishes two things as far as motor/condition and paint are concerned.



Both are immenent. I suppose sticking with this could be a better route for now. Just enjoy it MBM and stock until rebuild, then go crazy-nuts (Cause the car will undoubtedly be paid off by then, just need ONE sale to pay off my loan!) afterwards.
