I live in New Jersey, and I have NJ Manufactures as my insurance provider. When I finally get a turbo II, I have another car I drive right now.. its a concorde, I was talking to my friend and he tells me that I can do 6months with the concorde and thew other 6 months with your turbo II... Than I talked to my father and he said you pay 10 months now, and he said If I pay 6months I'm going to pay double for what I have to pay now? Is that true? Can't I just pay 6months for each car at a certian price? Or is it that damn expensive? please, any jersey guys, or NJ manufacture guys please respond this has been ticking me off.

you know, most insurance companies will tell you over the phone and give you quotes https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
im sure you'll have better luck asking them then asking us. |
NJ insurance is funky, there are a lot of NJ people that will be able to give ya some tips.

I live in NJ and I have NJM insurance, but I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. Do you want to insure 1 car for 6 months, and then take it off and put another car on for 6 months? if so, you can do that, infact you can just do it over the phone. your rate will be adjusted accordingly when you make the swap, and your anuualy prmium will go up or down depending on what the car is.

i gotta go get a NJ liscence this week.
it sux. on my gxl i paid 800 a year for full coverage with vermont insurance. i get NJ manufacturers through work so i am gonna go just liability on the T2.... i hope i dont get raped. |
I called Progressive for a quote on an FD, and they quoted me 4G's for 6 months. I'm 20, turning 21 thisw year in July, been driving with insurence since I was 16, perfect driving record.
How do they keep customers with having prices that outrageous? |
I think Jay gets what your dad is saying, I used to do that
with my vert and my jeep, I would insure the vert for the summer, and the jeep for the winter, so it was like one car on the policy. Insurance companies dont like more then 1 car with 1 driver, let alone 3 cars that I had at the time. I would even swap out the registration as well. Then I needed the jeep over the summer alot and just have everything insured all year round along, 4 cars on one policy- ouch. |
Thanks. Well appreciated.

It is cheaper for me to have two cars insured than it is for me to have one car insured. The option to make my less expensive daily driver my primary vehicle saves me a few hundred when compared to having one of the RX-7's listed as the primary vehicle.
And while I live in 'Necktropolis, $8,000.00 per year for car insurance is laughable. |
$3,800 for just liability on my t2 for a year.
oh and NJM is the best deal in insurance in NJ, whoever complains about there prices should wait till they get dropped into the fishbowl of the like 2 other companies we have left here. this is my #1 reason that i hate this state. kevin. |

I'm 24, single and insure 3 cars.
83 FB is my "primary car" which is in storage for 6 months. $610 to insure with comp and 250 deductible. $140 for storage insurance 6 months. 91 integra "occasional use" and is the cheep one because this policy # has no tickets or accidents for over 10 years, it's only $174 per 6 months. Only lialility. Occasional use is considered under 7500 miles per year with state farm. 88 chevy truck is also "occasional use" but I just started the policy yesterday so that's why it's $230 per 6 months. only liability. Once I turn 25 my insurance on my primary car only will drop ~30-40%. |
woo hit a car today, insurance rises again!

i've got njm and for me, i'm saving 2000 dollars a year (full coveraged on the fd and pathfinder) as compared with just the FD... this is how I do it...
I have both the FD and the pathfinder registered to me and I convinced my girlfriend, who doesn't drive often but holds a license to be listed with me under the same njm policy- of course, I am the primary policy holder. Full coverage of the FD listed as my gf being the primary driver comes out to be around 2000 dollars for the year. Liability only on the pathfinder with me listed as the primary driver comes out to be 1500 dollar (less than 3 years driving experience in the US). This come to a bottom line of around 3500 dollars for 2 cars. Compared with before w/full coverage and me listed as the primary driver for the FD, it came be around 5500 dollars! My gf didn't move in with me at that time... So my advice would be, use them bi***** just like they used us! ahah j/f.... But seriously, if you've got someone in your family who doesn't have a policy or something... go for it... |
thanks for the advice... I see your point since my pops has been driving for way long he's 54 mabey it would be wise to put it in his name.
Thanks again. |
My dad wont put the 7 under his name for me, cause he's afraid of me hitting someone and them suing him. so they made me put it under my name they wanted 7,200 a year for full coverage. I told em to **** off in less than a year i coudl buy every part needed to fix my car for that much.
