I found this yesterday and wasn't sure if anyone posted it. It is bone stock and almost brand new. Hasn't even popped its cherry yet!! Super clean but I have a feeling it is going to be way out of my price range. The owner of the biggest mazda dealership in houston owns one like it and it only has 20,000 miles. I though that was one of the lowest. I wish I had the money!!

1Revvin7 02-18-2003 11:05 AM

Joe Flo 02-18-2003 11:07 AM

A 10 year old car is a 10 year old car. Reguardless of mileage. Aside from the most likely flawless condition... The car is going to fall victim to the normal problems associated with a FD.

Why own such a car and not drive it? Only reason I don't drive mine in bad weather is because it's too goddamn dangerous. Other than that.. I drive the piss out of it. I HATE seeing cars with no miles... What's the fun in telling your friends that you have a car in the garage?? I'd rather meet them at the local hangout and break some ****. Not like the cars are that goddamn expensive anyway...

Wouldn't it be safe to say that even if it's not driven, the car will still go through normal aging?

That'a my point, and "If you're not braking anything, you're not making enough power." :bigok:

There's a letter to Road and Track this month about how happy a reader was to see paint chips on a McLaren, because that meant it was actually being driven. :bigok:

Fd3BOOST 02-18-2003 04:43 PM

PFS sold one last spring that only had 17k on the odometer.

95 r2 red. ******* cherry ride.

Rob x-7 02-18-2003 04:50 PM

some people just have multiple cars and own a RX-7 or a car

like it to drive on the weekends, or to meets, or shows, the beach,

**** like that, on other words, people like me, I havent driven my car since

November, but I put over 300 miles on it that day. Its nice when you dont have

to drive the car everyday and you can keep it clean and nice when it comes

time to cruise it and not just use it.

Apex13B 02-18-2003 07:37 PM

my car had 89,000 on it when i bought it in august...it now has 102,458

2 sets of tires later

drive it like you stole it

Its fair to say that a car will still age even if it just sits their. It might even have more problems since it hasn't been run much. But its the fact that it is in such condition that makes it special. On top of that it is like buying a new car! Right now I am looking for one that is bone stock. That way I know what is under the hood and I know that anything wrong with it is because it is my fault! You definately get that with this car.

drive it like you stole it

Hell yeah man!!!!!

JimmyJimboJet 02-18-2003 07:49 PM

i've never understood why people don't drive their nice cars alot. besides the obvious like weather or whatever. but what's a car for? to drive...

unless, they happen to have another one just like it, then i guess it's ok https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Its common for corvette owneres becaue they know if you keep the thing in good condition that it would be worth alot in 30yrs. I personally dont have the patience but hey! I dont do it! If you look at any corvette from the 50s or 60s and its in good condition it is easily worth 50k. So...maybe this guy should hold on to the 7 for a few more years and he will be laughing at us for questioning him while he collects! :bigok:

JimmyJimboJet 02-18-2003 07:55 PM

good point, but there are an assload of corvettes on the road, not too many FDs. I wonder how much that car would be worth in, say 10 years?

Joe Flo 02-18-2003 08:03 PM

Exactly!! but back in the day they didn't make too many corvettes either. I don't think the ones from today would be worth much except for the anniversary editions and junk like that! As for the 7....that car is probably one of the cleanest in the country. (maybe, maybe not) I am sure who ever buys it will do the same.

However...I was thinking after I posted this that a rich person will probably buy it, strip and use it as a race car. that would be sad.
