I replaced the front brake pads on my mom's 99' camry a month ago. The brakes still sqeel. I have since taken the brakes off and found nothing wrong. I even took out the wear indicators, and yet it still squeeks under moderate braking. Its definately the front brakes as the rear are drum brakes. I don't know whats wrong.

Did you get the rotors turned? If there's uneven wear on the rotors, they'll hit the pads at weird angles and squeal. It could also be the type of pads you used, as well as dust accumulating.

I did not have the rotors turned they looked and felt smootha and even. I thought maybe it was dust or a rock so I took them apart again. Nothing out of the normal. I will have to check into the rotors. Thxs! I got the pads from NAPA. I used the same pads on my dads truck. No problems. They are not glazed either..

I've seen this stuff in stores, an aerosol can, like "stop squeek" or something like that. Anyone ever tried it?

The Brake squeek problem just a high-frequency vibration. Nothing is wrong with them, and you can just ignore it. It should come and go. Other than that, higher quality pads might be in order, and that 'stop squeak' stuff helps.

Stop Squeak is a product applied to the back surface of the pad (not the friction surface), and is designed to supress the vibrations that contribute to squeaking.

EDIT: removal of the wear indicators concerns me, Just be sure to check the pads often, as the pad mounting + rotor face = bad.

Oh, and wear indicators have a significantly different sound than brake squeak.

Did the pads have shims on them?

Oh, and don't be fooled, drum brakes squeak too.

someone told me resurface the rotors.
