i was comming down my friends road and it was flooded not to bad but covered the road so i was going really slow then all of a sudden it stalled. so i start it back up and poof a big cloud of white smoke comes out and thank god we were like right around the corner from his house. well i get it into the driveway and it stalls. so i go to start it up and it starts weird then when it dose get started the whole car shakes really bad i mean like i have a rotor bouncing around in there. well it was smoking really bad. a friend of mine said i could have fouled a plug. but it got really bad but now i am stranded like 40 miles from home. and the car is staying here. if the motor is blown which i hope it is. when they go to rebuild it then they can port the mofo. the damn motor only has 1800 miles on it so it is covered under warrantee. so i hope its blown cause while its out i am going to tell them to port it and put in a new clutch and flywheel and TPS then i get it back and i am set. so i am pretty pissed right now. what are anyone else's opinion on this? do any of you think its blown? i mean the car shakes real hard and wont stay on unless i keep my foot on the gas. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif i think she is dead again, i dont think she was ment to live. lol thats ok motor is under warrantee

Compression test?
My engine shook like a mofo when it went out on me, but I wasn't driving through puddles. |
if you got water in the engine your warranty isn't going to cover it
But would water in the engine cause white smoke?
see the bad thing about water is that it DOESN'T compress... so when you try to squeeze it in a combustion chamber, the water has to go somewhere. It usually goes the weakest route.
Oh, and water in the motor is DEFINETLY not covered under the warranty.. |

well if it dose have to be rebuilt then its getting rebuilt and ported this time. or ill just do a TII swap
Why did it blow? How did your break-in period go? Who installed the engine 1800 miles ago, maybe it was their fault.
if water got in the motor wouldnt it cause hydro-lock like a dirtbike, even if it isnt a piston motor?
Who built it?
If the water was deep enough to reach your intake, then sure, you're screwed. It's also possible that you just got the ignition system wet and caused a few plugs to quit firing. Dry the thing out thoroghly and try to start it again.
check the air filter to see how wet it is, if it is soaked you may have ingested water into the crankcase, check the oil as well now that it has sat over night, if there was water in the engine, it will now be in your oil pan. look for a chaulky greyish color in the oil. Hopefully it did not hydrolock and all you have to do is dry out the plug wires and get her warm again.

the water was only about 3-4 inches deap and i was going pretty slow the water was not comming up on my car at all i am having AAA pick it up today
