I know i remember reading a post about this a while back...but i figured i'd ask again. What tire sizes would you guys recommend for 18X8.5 front and 18X9.5 rear?
|
275/35 rear
255/35 front |
245 and 265-275 maybe even 285
|
yeah thoes are about right
id do 245F 275R |
i would say go with 245 front and 265 and at most 275 with the rear.
im using 285 with 10'' rims, and they seem to bulge out a bit |

excessive rubbing and yes.... excessive rubbing
|
I'm rubing a little with 245's I don't want to think what would happen with 255's
Amel |
if 245 rub a little like amel says...is there anything wrong going with 235f and 265r?
|
I have 255's on the front. No rubbing https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Nope, Steve Cirian (sp?) from Lightning in a world of thunder runs 285's on all 4 corners and there's no rubbing.
im just speaking from experience man..... plus he only has 8.5 inch wheels and you're suggesting 255. given that they work for bobby's car back when it was still using stock high as hell springs he's gunna need insanely stiff suspension setup to keep it away from his fenders. which steve cirianni had his drag car/autox |

No worries man, but the FD comes stock with 245's on an 8 inch wide front rim I believe, 255's on an 8.5 one wouldn't be a problem.
and r1 packages came with 235 rear on 8 inch rims. not sure what the sizing is in japan when the 8.5inch rims came out |

Hmm, I thought it was 245 on all 4's. 225's are skinny as hell. My bad!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

but whats his ride height? you can get 285's in the front if you raise the car like 2-3" but if its at stock height it almost rubs everywhere

the sizes are the same throughout all models.. 225.50.16 on 16x8 as far as my comment srce on stayin clear... unless you have the suspension mapped out for runnin such a wide front patch.. there will be rubbin... not to mention the additional weight and its affects towards maneuverability imho.. |
