I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. The car had been cranky on cold starts recently, and had some wierd idle problems; and the fact that the moron from whom I bought the car (2 years ago) may have overheated it, with a leaky radiator and split TB coolant hose. Friday night, I drove the car pretty tamely, without much boost, or rpms or anything. Saturday morning, getting ready to go to work, I went to start it, and it was reluctant. Whenever it did start, it sounded like **** on a ****. Actually it sounded like it was full of water. Shortly after, the idle returned to a normal tone, with a repetitive stutter. If that wasn't an obvious enough clue, the massive amounts of fluffy, white, steamy, coolant smoke clued me off to the failure of my coolant o-rings. It doesn't bother me much, though, because now I get to port it. I just hope my 83 gsl with 170K miles will last long enough for me to get the fd going. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
BTW, if anyone feels like throwing any sort of donations my way (housings, seals, o-rings, porting templates, micrometers, etc) feel free. As the old TLC song goes, "I ain't too proud to beg."
