Came down with a case of pneumonia on Sunday, was admitted to the hospital on Monday, was finally released on Friday. Felt like I was getting out of jail. My temperature was up to 103, weak, dizzy, bad cough, it all around sucked. I was hoping for a hot nurse and a sponge bath, all I got was poked and prodded every hour on the hour. I have more track marks on my arms right now than a heroine junkie. Good to be home, I never appreciated my own bed so much.

How does one get pneumonia in Texas in August? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif Isn't it 100 degrees there?

Does pneumonia have anything to do with temperature?

It's a bacteria/virus, am I right?

TYSON 08-10-2003 12:13 AM

So's a cold or the flu, but you generally get them in cold weather.

Pnuemonia is commonly considered (by the public, anyway) to be a really bad cold with fluid in the lungs. Just normally more of a winter / overexposure to cold weather kind of thing.

Too much time in an air conditioned building? That would do it to me, probably. Glad you're back home.

Yup, Temperature has nothing to do with it.

Sometimes might make you more likly to become ill.

But temperature doesn't make you sick. It's usually other people. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Some science teacher said that to me at some point in my life, I've been trying to convince my mom that for awhile.

"Oh but honey, you'll catch a cold!"

"Uhh, no mom, Mr. Bill Nye says I won't."
