In the next few weeks im going to start looking for a beater car. This way i can start working on the vert a little bit more and not have to worry about driving it. Only problem is i got no clue what to get, of course i want a mazda but i dont know wether to get a truck a car or what. Some one help me out hell it doesnt even have to be a mazda.

Get something 4WD, like an Impresa 2.5RS, inexpensive and drives all 4.

Mr. Ashe 02-08-2003 06:46 PM

Get an old MX-6 or a 93-95 Mitsubishi Mirage

Or an old truck, so you can haul **** around.

Leetheslacker 02-08-2003 08:02 PM

Mr. Ashe 02-08-2003 08:05 PM

Leetheslacker 02-08-2003 08:08 PM

They make those?

R45 02-08-2003 08:38 PM

Toyota Truck, late 80's. They are cheap, easy to work on and run for ever :yinyang:

Shane.Trammell 02-08-2003 08:49 PM

get a little truck bc then you can haul stuff and they get good gas mileage. i know this was said already but thats my vote

rxchx7 02-08-2003 09:05 PM

hell yeah. OR, you can find someone that you know that has an auction license, and buy a car off of the "dead line" or just something that catches your eye....

hondas and **** like that go cheap in running condition, i am talking like 500-700 and they are functioning properly.

my roomie and i bought a civic si hatchback for 300$ it is being built to compete USAC car audio shows. it runs perfectly after a new battery....or how about the utility minivan we got there fo 150$ ir runs fine....

the idea here is NOT to have a note, RIGHT??

Srce 02-08-2003 10:23 PM

Ben93rx7 02-08-2003 11:43 PM

I would say hondas.... I have a acura integra as my beater, and before that had a honda CRX... Great cars reliability wise, I could tear the **** outta them and they wouldnt break.... Must say I like the acura better though, it at least has a bit more pep to it

I know, it's a good car to learn with, no power to kill yourself with. You know I'm bustin' your chops, right Lee? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

papasmurf 02-09-2003 01:02 AM

i got an 89 mustang 5.0 for my winter beater... bad on mileage ( better than my fd though ), drives perfectly, load as hell ( no cats n dumps ), and rwd! all i ever wanted!! snow drifting for 1800 is awesome!!!

FCmaniac 02-09-2003 07:49 AM

I'm still seeing pretty many 323's for under a grand on Autotrader... small but great gas mileage and reliable. A friend of mine traded one in with 215K still going strong.

Rob x-7 02-09-2003 12:54 PM

i dont think he needs AWD where he lives, so a simple 2wd truck/pickup

might be nice

Apex13B 02-09-2003 03:00 PM

mk2 8 valve jettas are abundant and cheap..you can pick up one for under $2000 in great condition

my friend bought one for 800 and its been going strong for 4 years now

DJ Rotor 02-10-2003 09:06 AM
