lol. If it sounded good, I'd say so, but the singer sucks, and the guitar in the second song is off at the begining... I didn't listen to the rest of the 2nd one or any of the 3rd.

BUT!!!

I'm not gonna say quit doing it. If you enjoy it, then by all means, have fun with it.

rotarychainsaw 07-19-2005 08:15 PM

I think the band should be called 'saves the nearing madison' or 'lifetime, nearing madison'

nopistons94 07-19-2005 10:43 PM

ya'll are a fine bunch is my fav song https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png but we have 4 other songs recorded as well yippee

thanks dave, as soon as I get the rest of the songs this weekend you guys will be the first to hear them all then you can judge what ya'll think. I think with some of the other songs that arn't up yet you might really like them as well. It's hard to judge a song from just 30 seconds tho lol

Dave 88 A.E 07-19-2005 11:44 PM

Nah it is pretyy good. I just don't like the type of **** they play on the radio that much., I could defiantely listen to it though. Hell I would probably even buy a demo depending on the price to help out a new band

Dave 88 A.E 07-19-2005 11:46 PM

god damn drunken post I meant definately not defiantely( is that even a word)

nopistons94 07-19-2005 11:46 PM

if you want dave I'd just give you a few of our EPs and you can sell them yourself for us and just take a percentage for selling to help promote us as well. I'd really appreciate that

Dave 88 A.E 07-19-2005 11:49 PM

I could maybe pass it around atleast to get the word out . Like to the local college radio stations.

Dave 88 A.E 07-19-2005 11:51 PM

Oh and Nismo is following me

Dave 88 A.E 07-20-2005 12:06 AM

Hey just hit me up on aim sometime my sister goes to a college that has a radio staion with a lot of listener's and i work with some guys who have their own recording studio, i guees you can call it that they have a quality sounding cd.

Rx7Widow 07-20-2005 01:42 PM

So, you're the one with bangs, right. Wait.....

No, not bad at all.

defprun 07-20-2005 01:52 PM

it should be called "STRACHT" and you should all wear black girders and hairnets with pink tutu's on. Youll need a keyboardist and a commodore 64.

im listening to it right now.. i hate to knock your "hard work".. but if you want honesty, here it is... i was in a band for 3 years back in the day and cut two cd's.. our first cd when we were 15-17 years old sounded better and more polished then what you have on that site.. we did everything in one take on a budget of less than $2,000

i do listen to a lot of punk and emo type music, but this sounds almost to generic.. like every song wants sounds like green day (guitar wise) and saves the day (vocally)...however, the quality of the recording and the quality of the vocalist/guitarist makes it hard to listen to.. with 2-3 different chords anyone can make a hit, but with what you are doing, it really doesn't sound good.

your going to need some computer editing on your voice, some vocal lessons, and some work on your ear (you almost sound tone deaf) assuming you are the lead singer.. your drummer needs a metronome and someone to train him when and when not to hit a cymbal.

of all the songs.. #2 sounded the best; vocalist was more on key, and the drummer wasn't playing.

wanna give me 4k so we can go record in a professional studio? Dont need tons of snazzy wanna be metal guitar solos and other things to make a song good. Im glad my singer sounds like chris from saves the day, i love saves the day they ****** rock, oh and their songs are 4 chord wonders along with just about everyother band now adays as well. dont worry, i have some solos in some songs we recorded though cause i love to mix it up https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

i thought you were the guy making like 30k a year off the band.. or 30k a year in general.. im sure you could scrounge up a few dollars between you and your bandmates to raise 4k easily.. if your serious, you'll do it. your only looking at a grand a person..

saves the day is good for a punk band.. re-read my other post.. i stated that it sounded like thats who you ere trying to be like.. not who you actually sounded like.

re-read my post again.. i said anyone can make a hit with 2-3 chord songs.. but what your doing isn't cuttin' it. i didn't say it was bad to use 2-3 chords..

use some guitar solo's.. try to polish your vocals/guitar/drummer.. well try to polish everything up.. take your time.. your recording sounds rushed, and it doesn't sound like anyone really took the time to make adjustments to the mix.. i know computer software can do better then that, so try to redo everything, and lay things down track by track.. perfect everything.

CletusFD3S 07-22-2005 05:07 PM

Not the greatest, the recording sounds horrible, but all bands first ep's do. If you like playign keep it up, bands grow over time.

mazdaspeed7 07-22-2005 05:25 PM

The recording sucks, your equipment needs to be set up much better. The singer didnt sound very confident in his voice in the first 2 songs, almost like he was trying too hard. And the drummer, well, needs practice. Lots. And a metronome couldnt hurt.

All this is constructive criticism, I actually enjoyed the third clip, although it needs work. But the potential is there, hopefully you will be able to make it in an already crowded genre.
